Its photo organising capabilities, including face recognition, enable you to discover long forgotten photos left on your PC and create attractive new designs for printing.

New advanced features include Automatic Suggestion, which searches your PC for stored images and displays forgotten photos on the desktop via a slideshow. The images can then be edited and printed through My Image Garden. Automatic Layout uses image assorting technology to recognise images and automatically recommend the optimum layout for print. Face recognition software also detects faces in photos and automatically groups images together, making it easy to locate shots of particular friends and family.

Print direct from Facebook

Create eye-catching reminders of your memorable times by printing photos directly from Facebook. In one simple operation, the Print Your Days app lets you print your, or your friends’, Facebook photos and create beautiful collages.

Canon has created a new Facebook application, Print Your Days1, which makes it easier to enhance and print photos directly from the site without the need for any additional software. The app, which is available online via Facebook, includes tools to allow you to automatically adjust photo layouts and create unique collage prints with up to five photos printed on a page. It also provides a range of style and editing options, including borders, cropping and the ability to add captions as well as colourful photo effects, such as sepia tone for a popular vintage look. A selection of 24 colourful backdrops can be chosen to decorate the background of a collage, ranging from fun spots or stripes to more natural effects such as grass or cork, adding a further creative twist to printing photos.

Print Your Days also makes it possible to print photos uploaded to Facebook by friends2, so photos of holidays, birthdays and other special occasions can be easily enjoyed and shared in print as well as online.

We've had a few printers over the last few years and our latest old warhorse has finally bitten the dust :(

So, just looking for a budget but by no means inferior multifunction printer I spotted this one. Cannon Pixma has always had a pretty good name and after checking the specs out, thought I'd give it a go!

Before I go any further, after reading many comments on here saying there was no ink carts. . . there definitely was in this one! They were in a cardboard box along with the power cord. They are only testers that you may get 200 pages of print out of so you will need to buy another colour and another black cartridge. After shopping around, the inks are as cheap on Amazon as anywhere else so I've bought one of each myself.

In the box you get the printer, power cord, one colour ink cart, one black ink cart, set up cd rom and instructional booklet.
*There is no printer to computer cable in here at all* you will have to buy one separately. I've never seen a cable come with a printer, they don't.

The MP230 can print, scan and copy. Much smaller and lighter than previous ones we've owned but not cheapo/plasticky feeling. The paper input tray at the back flips down onto the printer to stop dust getting into it when not in use. The scanner lid has a bit of give on the hinges so if you wanted to for instance copy a magazine page the lid will still close over well although there's a thick-ish item inside. There is no capture tray for your printed copies as they roll out. You would have to put some sort of catch tray there or do what I do and just put a magazine or something just over a pages length from where they come out so they are dropped onto there. To access the printer cartridges for changing, you have to lift the actual scanner bed up.

Printer / scanner installed and working. Replaces ancient Canon printer.
Setting up from CD fairly simple and manual very comprehensive. Instructions easy to follow and printing is very rapid compared with old model. The All-in One saves space and seems good value for money. The supplied ink cartridges are for setting up and testing only, so extra black and colour ( usually sold as twin pack ) will be needed.

It is always difficult selecting a printer. As size, what is required (copy and scanning) and price, both product and cartridges always play a large role in the executive decesion making process. Well I did my research first and this product has to be the best printer I have owned. I run a business from home and rely on printing, scanning, photcopying and all with cost in mind. The only downfull is that my cat has falling in love with it and refuses to get off it while also discovering the power button in the early hours!! I would highly recommend this product, using the company and the swift delivery and service received. 5*****

I bought this in sheer desperation as my trusty old (and completely brilliant) hp 3310 printer had decided to act up in it's old age (7+ years) and I needed something quick to print out some photos for a workshop I was running the same evening (did not buy it from Amazon). As one review says, they would not recommend using this printer to print out images on a regular basis as the quality (on card and photo paper) is not that great, and it truly isn't, but I was desperate, I didn't expect it to be brilliant. The reason I'm writing this review is to caution those thinking of buying this printer regarding the cartridges. I am told that when buying a new printer, cartridges included in the box (as they were here) are not normally full capacity. i managed to print off about 20 A4 photographs and then the colour cartridge ran out. Upon buying a new colour cartridge (between £18 - £29) I found ince again that the colour cartridge ran out after printing off 24 photos (less size than A4) I paid £38 for the printer and the replacement cartridges have so far cost me £42!!! If you wish to buy a printer to use on the odd occasion, for letters and such, then this will be a great buy, but as with any printer...please check the costs of the ink cartridges first and make sure you read reviews. I also found that it was quite slow at printing (60 pages took around 2 hours to print completely!) and it was rather noisey too. It does not have a tray to catch printed paper, so make sure you have something underneath to catch it for you. I notice a lot of people mention about the lack of the USB cord - I can't say that I am aware of any printer having one in the box, but you should find that the one off the old printer can be used instead.
I purchased this as I had no choice but I would say, if you want a good photo printer, you will have to pay a lot more, but most importantly...always read reviews before buying anything!

I bought this all in one printer for use in the home. I thought the price was really good. It does the lot in terms of printing, scanning etc.It was easy to set up and came with 2 cartridges. The only problem was there was no printer cable in the box!!!!!!
I would recommend as a good cheap all in one unit.
