I have had this product for just over three months and think it is the best printer I have ever owned (7) - for easy of installation, build quality and print quality. Ink can be/is expensive but this is understandable for the print quality.
Just a word of warning: If you want to update the drivers or included software use the USA site to download the updates. The UK driver and software download site is completely out of date.
Example: Easy Photoprint Pro supplied on the UK installation disc will not work with the latest version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. UK phone technical help did not know of any update available to facilitate this BUT the update to enable is available to download on the USA site, along with other software updates not shown on the UK site.

I have had this printer/scanner for around 5 - 6 months and have the following comments:
1. the prints it produces are excellent
2. The scanner is good, but it does take some time to work out how to control it properly
3. Ink consumption is astronomic - I estimate its consumption of ink is 3 - 4 times the amount of ink that an older pixima 4000 uses for a similar volume of printing.
4. Ipads & this printer - this is a whole world of pain.
If the ink consumption was OK, it would be a four or five star printer scanner, but it is not. The amount of ink used by this printer is far too much in my opinion - and it is expensive - £60 for a set of ink that does not last. For the majority of users you would be far better looking at a printer/scanner that has an OK ink consumption

First of all, the printer is very good. It installed perfectly onto my windows pc and also a Mac laptop. However my iPad 2 couldn't find the printer. Very frustrating, as the canon app worked perfectly on the ipad for photos and scanning but I couldn't print anything else. Canon technical support were hopeless - they told me the printer wasn't AirPrint enabled, when it definitely is. Apple support worked hard but to no avail. The answer lies in the firmware, and a big thanks to the chap who provided the first review for pointing me in the right direction. The situation is not helped by the firmware update being mislabeled as version 1 on the Canon website.The process is simple and solved my problem, but what a waste of time and energy. Despite the hassle I'm pleased with the printer so far....One star less for the aggro.
