Designed to print documents, web content and photos quickly and easily, the affordable MG3150 combines exceptional value with signature Canon image quality, allowing you to use the printer efficiently, as often as you like.

Thanks to the 2 picolitre (pl) ink droplets from Canon's class-leading FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) print engine which delivers an astonishing resolution of up to 4800 dpi, the MG3150 produces vivid, detailed photos and crisp text. It can print a 4” x 6" (10 x 15 cm) borderless photograph in 44 seconds, giving you superior photo-lab quality output at speed.

All PIXMA printers come with genuine Canon inks already installed. For frequent users, replacement Canon ink cartridges now come in XL sizes which allow you to print more and offer substantial savings over standard cartridges.

The MG3150’s document print speeds are also impressive with 9.2 IPM* in black and white or 5.0 IPM* in colour.

FastFront design means it can sit discreetly anywhere

The FastFront feature makes replacing ink cartridges and loading paper quicker and easier because it can all be done from the front. Introducing this feature not only makes life easier when using the printer on a daily basis but it has also allowed the printer to be redesigned so that it is more compact. This enables it to be placed closer to a wall or on a shelf because it takes up less space.

Easy to use straight out of the box

To reduce power usage, and to ensure there’s no waiting around, the MG3150 incorporates Quick Start functionality. This means that there is no need to wait for the printer to ‘warm up’ resulting in near instant operation - perfect for those in a hurry.

With Auto Duplex printing you can print on both sides of the page without the hassle of manually turning the page. This saves you time and paper which in turn saves you money and means your printing has a reduced impact on the environment.

Quick and easy with Auto Scan

Premium quality 1200 x 2400 dpi scanning is quick, simple and easy with the integral Auto Scan Mode. It detects your original, e.g. photo, business card or letter, then automatically scans and saves the image with the appropriate settings, all without any prompt from you. You can also scan directly to a USB stick or memory card to quickly share scanned files and with the included Canon MP Navigator EX software you can convert hardcopy documents to searchable PDFs and add password protection.

Simply select a frame from your movie using the intuitive Easy-PhotoPrint software and print. Automatically correct your images with Auto Photo Fix II

Based on Canon's market-leading intelligent camera technology, Auto Photo Fix II with Red-Eye Removal and Multi-zone Exposure Correction is perfect for your home photo lab as it automatically fixes your photos at the printer, giving you flawless results without the need for a computer.

It also categorises your images into one of five types - Portrait, Scenery, Night Scenery, Snapshot with Scenery, and Snapshot with Night Scenery - then applies optimal image and exposure correction. This means that unexposed areas of the photo will be optimised area by area, plus faces that are backlit and under-exposed will automatically be brightened with correct colour cast to help ensure more accurate skin tones creating beautiful images.

Control your web printing with Easy-WebPrint EX

The Easy-WebPrint EX software helps you organise the information you want to print from the internet, avoiding wasting paper by printing the details you don't need. These include:

ChromaLife100 is a system that preserves the lasting beauty of your photographs when combining genuine Canon products: your PIXMA printer, ink and photo paper.

Light, heat, humidity and gases in the air can all cause photos to fade over time, whether they are silver halide photos or inkjet photos. Canon has developed ChromaLife100 to help inkjet photos withstand environmental conditions for more than 100 years.

ChromaLife100 is a system in which photo paper, inks and print head work together to produce long-lasting, beautiful photos.

Print head: Speed and quality

All PIXMA printers use Canon’s exclusive FINE print head technology. Microscopic nozzles fire off tiny micro-droplets with pinpoint accuracy. Smaller nozzles mean more of them can be packed onto the print head, so higher speeds can be reached with no compromise in quality.

Photo paper: Instant dry

The FINE print head is so quick you need paper that can keep up with it. Genuine Canon photo papers have a micro-porous coating that quickly absorbs ink deep below the surface – away from the gases and light that cause fading. So you get quick-dry, colour-fast, glossy photos that can last a lifetime.

Inks: For rich, accurate colours

FINE micro-nozzles need exceptionally pure ink to avoid clogging. All genuine Canon inks are manufactured in a controlled, dust-free environment. They are specially formulated to resist the gases in the air that cause fading. High optical density ensures a wide and accurate colour gamut.

*Printing speeds explained: Canon measures its printing speeds in IPM (Images Per Minute). IPM is an ISO speed testing standard, approved by the International Standards Organisation in March 2009.

PPM (Page Per Minute), used by some manufacturers, is not a standard for inkjet printers. Every printer manufacturer has their own ‘test pages’ that are used to test speed and give vastly different results. The new ISO standard sets standardised ‘test pages’ that are to be used by any manufacturer measuring their speed in IPM, allowing comparable results across inkjet brands.
