12.1 Megapixels
A massive 12.1 Megapixels resolution delivers enough detail for huge poster-size prints and creative image manipulation.

Sophisticated optics
The Digital IXUS 960 IS incorporates a 3.7x zoom lens with Canon’s renowned optical Image Stabilizer technology to counteract camera shake. The ultra-compact lens incorporates an Ultra-High Refractive Aspherical Index (UA) element for the capture of high quality images throughout the zoom range.

DIGIC III with Face Detection AF/AE/FE
Canon's DIGIC III processor provides lightning quick responses, superb image quality and advanced noise reduction for sharper, clearer images. Face Detection AF/AE/FE and iSAPS analyse the scene, detect subjects in the frame and select the optimum focus, exposure and flash settings.

Facedetection

Red-Eye Correction

PureColor LCD
A high resolution (230,000 pixels) PureColor LCD displays richer, vivid colours with sharp definition. An anti-glare, scratch-resistant coating aids visibility in bright light and adds extra protection against knocks and scrapes.

Shooting Modes and My Colours
18 shooting modes including Beach, Indoor and ISO 3200 aid the capture of still images in tricky lighting conditions. My Colors in-camera photo effects can be applied both during and after shooting.

Movie Options
Movie modes include Long Play (LP) for VGA (30fps) clips that use half the normal memory card space, and Time Lapse Movie, which captures changing scenes - such as a flower’s bloom or a bustling city street - for accelerated playback as smooth video clips.

Safety Zoom and Digital Tele-Converter
Safety Zoom takes advantage of the camera's 12.1 Megapixels to offer extra zoom magnification without affecting image quality. The Digital Tele-Converter adds extra telephoto capability - just like adding a tele-converter lens to the camera.
