Like most of canon products that I have ever had, Canon IXUS 310 HS did not disappoint me. The image quality is really good; HD video is fantastic both on the built-in screen and play back on HD flat screen. It has a wow effect on my friends when they saw the image quality and HD playback. The first use was at a University graduation ceremony, I was still able to take good pictures and videos despite the fact the I was several meters away from the main stage, it's astonishing.
Easy to use from the box, I still haven't gone through all the features but what I learn from the quick guide is enough to take a good picture. I like the fact that it came with a pointing device to use on the screen, it is handy if you give the camera to someone not familiar with touch screen technology.
I found the cover to the battery and memory card a bit fiddly, especially when you try to close it. I think Canon should have done better.
In all I give it 5 stars

Decided to sell my 2 old camera's, and put the extra cash in and buy this one, Glad I did this is a superb little camera which takes fantastic photo's and also full 1080P HD video clips which look GREAT these also have stereo sound, I picked the gold colour and trust me it really looks the part that along the touchscreen panel this looks more like a £500 camera.
The build quality is also very very good. Go for it you will not be disappointed

Excellent images
This was bought as a present for my wife. The main thing was to be as automatic and failsafe as possible. So far, so good. On fully automatic it really is point and shoot. Read more
