Canon IXUS 310 HS Digital Camera - Silver (12.1MP, 4.4x Optical Zoom) 3.2 inch Touchscreen LCD

As a performing musician and DJ I always want to capture "the" moment so, my criteria are; point and shoot, low light, hd video and stereo sound. Well this comes up trumps on all fronts. The most amazing thing is, the low light shooting in HD, there is no camera shake, not even shudder in images sweeping from side to side. And it beats my camcorder hands down. The fill in flash does just that. it does not white out the subjects, they seem to retain a more natural colour. Even on my 42" tv the pixilation on low light shots is very acceptable. The sound is OK, for a camera. Auto mode is fine I have a collection of SLR's as I'm into photography and thought I would want to fiddle the with the settings, well? no I don't. So there. Why the Canon? well they make cameras that's what they have always made, unlike some others who do Hi-Fi etc. The screen is very good even in outdoor conditions.
This is a fantastic camera for amateurs and pros looking to snap the "moment".
One other thing, from switching on to taking the photo takes seconds, and it takes photos when you press the button not several seconds later like some others who seem to have to compute so much data the scene has long gone.

Having been a loyal Nikon fan all my life I bought this camera with some reservations. I must say the image quality is phenomenal. The camera itself is also very easy to use. My 15 year old has been snapping away and capturing the beauties in the garden, producing pictures that look like they belong to a magazine (no previous experience). I also love all the user functions esp the touch-screen. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

FORGET THE CANON S95, OR G11, G12, ETC. "THIS 310HS" is Canon's Best feature packed CMOS Censor (Point and Shoot) camera that can truly take Pics in low light without Noise, Grain, or Speckles even when enlarged.

I was going to BUY the 220 HS then decided on this 310 HS, for a few extra quid. And Glad I did, it gets excellent reviews all over the internet, and read a really good one on Facebook by an owner.

All I can say its the NEXT BEST THING to a "pocketable DSLR Camera" if you could make one?. as the optics are stellar... and up to par with the "G11 and G12" for outdoor Photo's. But where this camera excels, is "indoors in lowlight situations".

Its got an F2.0 F-Stop, Aperture, so the lens opens really wide, very wide indeed to let in as much light you will find in a point and shooter... 'So no need for a flash in low light conditions (ie.) an indoor room with low lighting' perfect' for the IXUS 310 HS. At least as good as the Canon S95, but without the price tag.

At the moment Amazon have the best price with a rock solid no quibble money back guarantee, something you will find hard to locate anywhere else, I've been with Amazon 6 years, and I would NOT shop anywhere else, together with NEXT day delivery, which is essential.

Please give this camera serious consideration if you are in the marketplace for a new easy to use point and shoot camera, just turn to auto, and the on board CPU Processor does all the thinking for you, and you usually end up with superb, clean, sharp snaps, 10/10.

In closing because of the (NEW Cannon "CMOS Sensor") its a lot easier on battery life than typical CCD, its also much faster, (Very Quick compared with CCD), and off course much better in low light situations just like the type you find on DSLR cameras, 'only a little smaller CMOS Sensor', & the 3.2inch touch-screen at the rear is a welcome feature).

Its up to you to make you your own mind, but I can promise you will not be left disappointed with the results - from this sturdy little camera.!
