Easy to carry on travels with your EOS M

Easy to carry wherever you travel, the lens features an ultra slim, lightweight body with stylish aluminium exterior and an EF-M mount to match your EOS M.

Superb low light results with f/2.0 aperture

The EF-M 22mm f/2 STM delivers brilliant results in low light situations thanks to a wide maximum aperture of f/2.0. It allows you to capture the natural atmosphere of evening and nighttime scenes in stills and movies without using a flash or a tripod, giving you the freedom to effortlessly shoot exceptional handheld images in any lighting situation.

Smooth, quiet STM focusing in movies

Recording high quality movies that are always sharply focused is easy with Movie Servo AF. It uses an inner focus and STM stepping motor technology for silent continuous focusing in movie mode, so your movies are smooth with reduced blur.

Great image quality from aspherical lens elements

Crisp, high-contrast undistorted image quality is assured even when shooting in low light thanks to aspherical lens elements, which correct any spherical aberrations that might spoil your images. The lens also features Super Spectra coatings that help ensure accurate colour balance and high contrast as well as suppress flare and ghosting for beautiful images in any lighting situation.

Shoot smooth out of focus backgrounds

For professional looking images with great impact the EF-M 22mm f/2 STM lets you create beautiful images with smooth out-of-focus backgrounds that emphasise your subject and remove distractions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent image quality 18 Mar 2013

This fast (f/2.0) lens generates absolutely excellent image, in terms of sharpness, contrast, and colour. It's short distance (15 cm) really works when shooting still object like food on the table. As many people mentiones at various review sites, its autofocus is very very slow. So, personallyI would not recommend it to shoot moving subject like children. It's not for fast shooters either. But I do recommend this for landscape or still object. Perfect companion when travelling too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good compact lens but... 18 May 2013

Good compact lens to keep on the camera for everyday use. A fast lens (f2) but the auto focus especially in low light is unusable. Overall I am happy with the lens but I use manual focus ring.

I like the size of it! It's small and perfect for holiday/everyday use.

Some reviews on web complained about the AF speed.
I agree but I use MF so it did not bother me much, but problem arise when someone who is not familiar with MF using my lovely camera. Some of my holiday pictures were blurred...
