Designed to get heads turning, the super slim Digital IXUS i zoom comes in four irresistible colours. Elegant contours complete an exquisitely designed all-metal body. A 5.0 Megapixel CCD sensor delivers photo quality prints up to A3 size, with plenty of scope for image cropping. A compact ultra-high refractive index aspherical (UA) 2.4x optical zoom allows for improved framing without sacrificing quality.
When you need to get close, Canon's precision optics combine with digital zoom to provide impressive 10x magnification. Canon's DIGIC II processor ensures fast, responsive camera performance and superbly rendered colours. iSAPS analyses each scene and optimises key camera settings even before a shot is taken. These technologies combine to provide superb, immediate results.
The DIGITAL IXUS i zoom comes with a convenient Camera Station. It is the base for quick and easy direct printing, PC uploads and battery charging. Supplied with its own wireless controller and video out connection for slide and movie shows straight from the camera to your TV. You can choose from 16 shooting modes to expand your potential, and Seven Special Scene modes help you deal with tricky settings. You can apply custom colour effects in real time with My Colors. The movie mode lets you record VGA quality movies with sound. You can play back your movies to family and friends by connecting to a TV through the Camera Station. The Intelligent Orientation Sensor automatically rotates portrait shots before playback and converts the Func/Set button into a handy shutter release when the camera is held vertically.
You can connect the Camera Station to any PictBridge compatible printer for effortless printing. Simply push the Print/Share button for a full colour print within seconds. You can also connect to a Canon SELPHY CP Series printer and take advantage of advanced print functions, such as printing ID photos. Upload images at high speed with the USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connection. Canon's ZoomBrowser EX (Windows) and ImageBrowser (Macintosh) are included for editing and organising photos, movies and slide shows. CANON iMAGE GATEWAY** provides 100MB of web space for sharing your photos online.

The canon ixus i zoom violet has an inbuilt excellent 5 megapixal ccd that will alow the user to enlarge their images up to a3 size in crystal clear quality. On the reverse side of the camera their is a crystal clear 1.8 inch lcd display which is ideal for viewing back the photos you have just taken. The unit has a 2.5x zoom and a 4x digital zoom which equates to around a total of a 10x zoom. The camera has 16 scene modes which allow the user to refine the shots they have taken. The scene modes include sports, cusine and underwater. The ixus i zoom violet also has built in editing functions such as red eye reduction. The camera is usb 2.0 compatible and comes with a very small 16mb sd card so i recomend you upgrade the card to at the first available opportunity to at least 256mb to get the most out of your camera. In the box you get, the camera, a strap, a 16mb sd card, rechargable lithium battery, a power adaptor, an av cable, a docking station and a usb cable. The camera is extremely impressive with its light weight (120g) and very stylish design. The camera produces very impressive results both from stll imgages and movie clips with sound it can produce. The downside i can see is that the optical zoom is only 2x instead of the usual 3 which is now standard on most cameras. Ironicly considering the name of the camera. if you can over look this small fault then i reccomend you buy this small but excelent performing. If you buy this camera you will not be dissapointed.

My goodness. I have had this camera for three days now and have just read the advanced guide!! Brilliant. I am an enthusiast photographer and own a Nikon D50 (digi/slr) which is my baby but wanted a pocket camera to stop missing out on those photos i have missed out on because the D50 doesn't quite fit into my pocket!! This camera is a beauty. It has everything and more a pocket camera should, it is in my opinion a better camera than a lot of compact digitals on the market. The best little feature is the automatic picture flip (which happens just by turning the camera vertically. Hey presto!! Canon, you have outdone yourself. And, the colour is so fabulously stylish. Buy it, you will NOT regret it !!

This is my first digital camera, so i don't have much to compare it to! But I absolutely love it and its good points far outweigh its bad points!
Everyone really admires it when they see it, it fits EASILY into your pocket, has lots of groovy features (such as colour accenting!) and the menu is extremely simple! The only bad points would be the slightly reduced optical zoom (2.4 instead of the usual 3) and i find that the red-eye function doesn't work very well at all, but that is easily sorted with a simple computer program (although time-consuming!). Wouldn't swap it!!
