I realised how much one depends on the experiences of others.
So here is the sung praise for this tiny camera.
I had a beloved Ixus, when film was known to be inside a camera and not only in cinemas. My first foray into digital was a Fuji FinePix E900. An ok bulky workhorse, which threw itself, lens extended, on a stone step and died unceremoniously.
Now with the prices having come down so much for the Canons I could not resist to get the digital version of the Ixus. Thanks to the reviews I opted for this one.
And this tiny little thing (the pink is nice, even for a non pink person)is really amazing.
The thought which has gone into the operation system is impressive. Fiddling with buttons gets you into operation mode in no time and then the delight starts.
The quality of the pictures is really breathtaking. To call them sharp is an understatement.
The most amazing thing is the small amount of light this camera can work with to dazzle with quality!
It has a digital zoom which increases the optical up to 12 and to my surprise the sharpness of pictures taken by bad artificial light with the digital zoom was excellent.
The flash likes to barge in, but is rarely needed.
Impressive as well is when it comes to loading pictures to the computer. Again, the thought, which has gone into this set-up makes this whole experience a pleasure. The organisation skills the program presents and the possibilities of editing it offers are most impressive.
Well they claim: Canon can. And Canon can do indeed.
This tiny gem I highly recommend.
And a big thank you to amazon who worked a total surprise miracle with their speedy delivery.
