The USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface enables incredibly fast image transfers to your computer, with the fastest possible scanning speeds and previews of your scans in approximately 9 seconds. One simple cable provides both power and the USB connection, reducing the number of wires around your desk. Plus, an included desktop stand gives you the option of positioning the scanner vertically to save desk space.
As you'd expect, this versatile machine also delivers high-quality scanning performance. This is a typically Canon product - it delivers good quality performance at a reasonable price. I was bought this as a replacement for a rather "clunky" Epson 640 scanner - the software for which I could never get to work. This Canon came complete with an excellent software suite which installed and worked first time. It has the advantage of being ultra-slim and is supplied with a stand to allow it to be used standing on one edge to reduce its footprint. Additionally, it requires no power cord, just a single USB cable further reducing clutter. Overall, hard to fault and, for all but the absolute perfectionist, should prove to be more than adequate - overall this product offers a high value/performance ratio - if you need a scanner buy it!

A Stand-up Scanner (pun intended),

I've had this scanner for over a week and I have to say it's brilliant. It just stands up on the side of my desk at home. When I need it, I take it out of the clip and I scan. There's only one cable (USB - no power as LEDs use like no power) it scans to PDF, the OCR software I'd never heard of, but it's great and the quality is fantastic.If you want a scanner that is easy to use, portable, doesn't take up too much room and isn't that expensive, the LiDE 60 is the scanner for you.

I forgive you for not having chosen this scanner yet...but hurry up! This is my first scanner, and I couldn't recommend it any more. It is very simple to use and comes bundled with a lot of software. You don't have to install all of this though as the scanner works fine with other programs such as paint shop pro. The scanner scans from any size to just larger than A4. It is also incredibly light and small. It fits just nicely on the slide out keyboard shelf of my desk. It scans quite fast as well, and the scans are very good quality for this price.
