There is normally the choice between going for a 3rd party battery grip or going for the official manufacturers battery grip. I read reviews trying to decide whether to buy a cut price grip of to shell out for the correct grip. In the end I went for the Canon grip, having had 3rd party grips in the past, certain aspects of them (button pushes) can feel a little soft.
The BGE9 grip is a large grip that makes the 60D camera that it is designed for a chunky piece of camera equipment. For me this isn't a problem as I have large hands, for those of you who have smaller hands this shouldn't put you off, the grip is covered in a rubberised coating that makes the camera feel like it just sticks to the palm of your hand. The controls are solid and feel good quality.
This is my second Canon battery grip (the first for a 1000D), and although they are more expensive than many 3rd party manufacturers, you get what you pay for.

I bought a cheap third party handgrip last year which kept losing power, so I had to undo the battery compartment and put it back in again at regular intervals. Very annoying. Thought I'd splash out in the real deal. Glad I did. It looks and feels much better than the third party one. Most importantly, it works unfailingly.

Works really well, but this and a large lense and wandering around for a few hours you really know about it..

This would work well for family occasions ie weddings when you can put down or use a tri or mono pod

The grip is very comfortable and matches the 60D perfectly. The added weight really helps balance out some of the Canon L lenses. It took me a little while to remember I had two triggers, but it has changed the way I shoot to a certain degree. I love having a more solid camera.

As expected the grip was of excellent quality and tick all my boxes. Despite being new, the price was extremely attractive and proved to be excellent value for money. Delivery was fast and efficient. All round excellent service and will not hesitate to use supplier again in future.

Took two thousand pics in one shoot and not down to 50% in battery life, useful for portrait pics as controls on grip mean you don't have to scrawl over the camera.

These grips are a must. I bought this for my new 60D when I replaced my old 450D that also had a grip on. With two batteries installed the battery life is fantastic and the cameras menu shows both individual batteries information and remaining life, so clever!!! Some might find it adds to much weight to the camera, but I like the extra weight and size it gives the body. In my view, using the camera in portrait is so much easier and the extra buttons for shutter etc are brilliant. As its Canon the quality is excellent, as always, and I believe we'll worth the extra money. It is true, you get what you pay for! Some of the cheaper third party grips just are not as good.
