4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely little lens 22 Nov 2011

I already have the 50mm f/1.8 (thrifty fifty) as many users will have and I bought this as I needed a fast and wider lens. Using this with my 50D so still lost a bit with the crop factor but I found this to be a fast lens and oh-so-sharp.

No complaints - and does exactly what I bought it for. Good low light / sharp prime with a wide enough angle for the smallest rooms to produce good portraits.

5.0 out of 5 stars Canon 28mm f2.8, Great Lens! 21 Feb 2012
Can't speak highly enough about this lens. Sharp, crisp, contrasty images packed with detail! Great value for money.
Use this alongside my 50mm f1.8 on my 450D and i never reach for the 18-55 unless shooting landscape. primes are the way forward!

(...) Here is an example, if you like it maybe you could like my page also!

Cheers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Lens To Progress Too! 19 April 2012

My friend let me borrow his 28mm lens, and my god, I loved it. Great wide-angle shots, (both stills and video), so I decided to scout around for it, and managed to buy a used one for a great price. And in speedy time too! Nicely packaged!

Starting off with my kit lenses (after purchasing them and my 550d last year), I have now progressed and have this little beauty in my arsenal alongside the 50mm f/1.8

Fixed aperture lenses (such as this one) is great for what I'm going for. Creating short films, involving a variety of creative shots, without having to worry too much about working lighting around the camera.

Picture quality is top notch (it's a Canon lens, what else?), and if (as a Film Student like me) you have the sort of money (bargain or otherwise) to spend on a great lens like this, as well as the 50mm, then I would go for it.

Can't recommend it enough!
