I am a gig and wedding photographer but also like to take portrait and landscape pix. This lens is brilliant for each. It's pin sharp and you can minimalise vignetting (always prevalent with wide angle lenses) by using the correct metering, which I managed to almost negate, even on my full frame camera. It's a must have in any photographer's kit.

Excellent lens, virtually no distortion and acceptable wide open to excellent by F5.6, in real world situations the results are very different to test bench set ups. I find same very useful and a great deal lighter than a F2.8 zoom, always buy lenses for what you need out of same, don't follow trends or other people, if you need a zoom for your work buy same if you feel a fixed lens is right you will not go wrong with this lens.
