Seventh solo album and follow-up to 2001's 'The Invisible Man' from the former frontman of American Music Club. The album was recorded in San Francisco and London over a three-year period and Eitzel has retained the mostly electronic soundof his previous efforts again here. The recording features a collaboration with Calexico on the track 'Green Eyes'.

I had the good fortune of seeing mark on the invisible man tour
and out of laziness never picked up that album until recently?
I was actually in search of that recording when I picked up his latest "Candy Ass" insted? What a pleasent suprise!!! The initial acoustic sounds of the opening track St.Michael give way to an all out ambient/electronica asault on the sences! Being a huge fan of both genres of music acoustic/electronic this is the album I have been waiting to hear that would bridge those styles.
Some of the sonic textures and slow transitions reminds me some of Eno's work on Bowies classic Low & Heroes albums. Cult heroe elctronica band Auchture also comes to mind.
I have since picked up the previous "Invisible Man" and if you want to hear Marks musical progression into the world of electronica while still maintaining some soul this is a must have!!!
