About the Author

Written a number of children's books in the Candle range, including the Candle Bible for Toddlers. Graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1991 with a BA (hons) in Educational Media Design, I became an in-house designer and illustrator for the then Manchester based branch of Egmont Childrens' Books. After a year of invaluable experience working with an amazingly talented and motivated team, I decided to go freelance, and have been busily and happily doodling away ever since. I have continued to produce illustration work for Egmont books, along with many other companies both in the UK and Internationally. Ragdoll, ELC, Boots, Oxford University Press, and Marks and Spencer,to name but a few. I have many other interests, one of which is glass beadmaking, which allows me another outlet for my love of creating little characters. I feel very lucky to be able to spend my time doing something I love and sharing it with others. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

indecency unnecessary for toddlers 13 Jan. 2011
By Sowens - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
I bought this because I wanted something that had good pictures and short stories for my 12 month old. The Candle Bible has those. There is also a good variety of stories.

However, the pictures of Adam and Eve are very risque and I will need to color over some of them. My 1 year old won't care about this, but it will be a different story as he gets older.

Also disappointing is the fact that the Bible fails to mention the most important themes of Scripture, those of sin and redemption. In reference to Jesus' death on the cross, the book mentions only that "his friends were very sad because they had lost a good friend." Stories that carry this theme of sin and redemption are also omitted, such as Cain's murder of Abel and Abraham's sacrifice of Isaac etc...

The stories and illustrations are cute and interesting for toddlers. Sadly we will be looking for another toddler Bible before long as even a small child can begin to understand the basic concepts of the Bible.

My toddler's favorite Bible 27 Jan. 2014
By ktp - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
We have many children's bibles in our home. This is the 1st one our 2 year old has loved. He carries it around...calls it "my Bible" and asks to read it every day. The main difference (I think) is that this Bible has few words/sentences on each page and very engaging pictures for a toddler. It hits all the main Bible stories and people...it leaves out many of the details that you can teach later and uses very simple language. We will use it until he is ready for more words/less pictures and more details.

Just what I was looking for... 7 Dec. 2012
By Dory - Published on Amazon.com

This was purchased for my 1 yo's first birthday - we did a Noah's Ark theme. It's a perfect little book, bright interesting pictures, and well written in words both he and my toddler can understand. My only negative was I paid for expedited shipping and did not get expedited delivery.

IMPRESSIVE 21 Sept. 2013
By Robert Blackman - Published on Amazon.com

The preschool Sunday School teachers at our church love this Bible. The pictures capture the children's attention and there are few enough words per page to keep toddlers interested in having the stories read to them.
