Product Description

Psychotherapist Lawrence LeShan has worked with cancer patients for more than thirty-five years and his research has led people with cancer to find new, effective ways to fight for their lives. He has put his findings--full of meaning and purpose--into this revised edition that shows how psychological change, along with medical treatment, mobilizes a compromised immune system for healing. Included is a life-transforming workbook of hands-on exercises designed to help readers evaluate their inner selves and teach them how to get the most out of their immune systems by leading fuller, richer lives.

Format:Paperback
I had cancer nearly seven years ago, and have read lots of 'cancer' books. I came across LeShan after reading another book on 'cancer.' I feel this book is a must for anyone whose had cancer or knows anyone with cancer.

It focuses on the small changes we can make in our lives to make them fuller and richer - without money! Le Shan shows us that by living our dreams helps us to become whole and therefore 'cancer' has no place in our lives.

He has worked with many many people, and put his heart and soul into helping them. His approach is an honest reflection of his and others experiences during his lifes work.

He is truly a remarkable man :-) And would love to meet him, he is in his 90's now. I would go far as to say, this book should be handed out to every cancer patient that wants to survive.

This book has been really helpful in facing a terminal cancer diagnosis. It is life affirming, positive and practical and so far has been a great help to me. I have bought copies for others diagnosed with cancer and for family members.

A True Turning Point 22 Mar 2000
By Julie King - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book was integral in my coming to grips with my own cancer and how to get on with my life in a meaningful way. I have shared it with many others, both those with cancer and others who are not cancer patients but who are introspective and ALL have found it to profoundly change their lives. It continues to be a powerful tool in my life.

Profound 1 Nov 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Thank you LeShan for writing this book. The ideas are timely and clear, though he pulls no punches -- for many people it's either change your mind and life, or that's it. His stories are excellent, and not only the "successes" are here. The best mind/body book I've read.

Accounts of the emotional aspects of fighting cancer 6 Jan 1999
By Rusty Hoge - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
LeShan discusses how purpose and fulfillment in life play a crucial role in who gets cancer and who beats cancer. He worked with hundreds of patients over many years and his conclusions make sense and provide a message to everyone.

Highly recommended.
