Book Description

18 Oct 2005
In Cancer Is Not A Disease, bestselling author and internationally acclaimed health expert, Andreas Moritz, proves the point that cancer is the physical symptom reflecting our body's final attempt to eliminate specific life-destructive causes. He claims that removing such causes sets the precondition for complete healing of our body, mind and emotions. This book confronts you with a radically new understanding of cancer - one that outdates the current cancer model. On average, the conventional approaches of killing, cutting or burning cancerous cells offer most patients a remission rate of merely 7%, and the majority of the few survivors are "cured" for just five years or less. The prominent cancer researcher and professor at the University of California (Berkeley), Dr. Hardin Jones, stated: "Patients are as well, or better off, untreated." Any published success figures in cancer survival statistics are offset by equal or better scores among those not receiving any treatments. More people are killed by the treatments than saved. Cancer is Not a Disease shows you why regular cancer treatments can be fatal, what actually causes cancer, and how you can remove the obstacles that prevent the body from healing itself. Cancer is not an attempt on your life; to the contrary, cancer is trying to save it. Unless we change our perception of what cancer really is, it will continue to threaten the life of nearly one out of every two people. This book opens a door for those who wish to turn feelings of victimhood into empowerment and self-mastery, and disease into health.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review of Cancer 16 Sep 2011
Format:Paperback
If you wish to have a review of how cancer can be seen as a message from the body rather than just a disease, then this is the book for you.
It gives an interesting insight on an alternative way to view cancer. An excellent read.

4.0 out of 5 stars A positive approach to cancer 22 Feb 2010
Format:Paperback
It is such a relief to find a positive approach to cancer, amidst all the fear-mongering and negativity spread by conventional medicine. Countless people have healed themselves of cancer using alternative approaches, including myself, and without all the long-term health risks of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. Andreas Moritz suggests that tumours are the body's way of holding toxins in one area in order to protect the body from possible death - and that cancer cells are not in themselves dangerous at all. This was a great comfort to me when I was on my own healing journey, and placed the emphasis on detoxification - emotionally and physically. For me, there is too much emphasis on physical toxins in the book (which could spread fear about avoiding such toxins), when my understanding of the new biology (Bruce Lipton etc) is that emotional toxins resulting from negative beliefs and traumas are far and away the greatest cause of disease. That is why I give the book 4 stars rather than 5. Having said that, the section of emotional toxins is excellent (I'm a clinical psychologist who specialises in physical disease, and have just completed a book on the new medicine - so I am writing from a professional viewpoint.)

Ignore the reviews which score this book very low - some people are simply stuck in Cartesian-Newtonian ways of thinking, while others are being funded by the pharmaceutical industry to discredit books which challenge the hugely profitable 'cancer industry'. The new science tells us that the body is designed to be well, and does not need to be filled with drugs or cut open in order to get well again! We simply need to detoxify the body, clean up our emotional and mental toxins - and find a joyful purpose in life. Consciousness even controls our genes, as anyone who has read books such as The Biology of Belief knows. Cancer is only a dis-ease in the sense that it is showing dis-ease - but it can also be a friend and teacher.

I've read this book when my best friend was dying of cancer. I am a therapist and nurse and have studied Chinese Medicine and energetics of food for many years and much of what Andreas Moritz points out in this book makes complete sense to me. I.e. Alkaline diet, cutting out sugar and positive visualizations ("making peace with yourself") instead of "fighting the disease" that is always the way people look at cancer - like a war path on the way to erase something that in fact gives us a BIG message about the urgent need to change our lifestyle and learn to heal ourselves on emotional, mental level too, apart from the physical treatments.
I can only recommend this book to everyone who wants to understand more about what is going on when "Cancer" hits you or your family. Or in fact to look at ways of preventing it as currently every 3rd person in the UK is dying of cancer - Dairy products, sugar and meat rich diets, saturated fats, alcohol, sedentary lifestyle and negative unprocessed emotions all lead to stagnant energy in our body. Stagnant energy creates disease in our body and mind. Healing comes not only in form of Chemotherapy as many people may believe. Prevention is the way forward. This book can help us to learn much about what physicians ignore in the cure of cancer.
