Good for every location, 10 Jan 2003
I took this guide book with us on a trip across Canada from Ottawa via Toronto, Jasper, Banff, Vancouver to Victoria. It gave excellent guidance on what was good to see and what was not. I also took Lonely World guide to British Columbia and found I really didn't need that - the Rough Guide was much better.

Very accurately written book. Must have for any traveller, 31 Jan 2001
This review is from: Canada: The Rough Guide (Canada (Rough Guides), 3rd ed) (Paperback)
I am Canadian and usually I find these sorts of things quite inaccurate. However, my husband has bought the rough guild to Canada to prepare himself for a trip that we are taking later this year. I have had a good look at the book and I found it to be different then all the rest.
As well as giving valuable tourist infomation, the author has really managed to capture the atomosphere. I particularly respect the fact that they don't seem to sugar coat their descriptions. If a place is dull they say so. If a place hasn't got much going for it they keep the description brief.
Since I arrived here 5 years ago I have seen countless programs, books, etc. that claim to tell you all about Canada. I find that very few give u an accurate picture of what the country is really like. This book does that. I truely feel that if you plan you visit to Canada using The Rough Guild, you won't be disappointed.
Even if you are just simply wondering about what the country is like, this book will provide a great deal of accurate information that will satisfy your curiousity.
