At one time, Bob Monkhouse was derided as the worst kind of smarmy, lightweight family entertainer. His reinvention as a cult figure for the young came about through his canny tailoring of his material for a new audience. Rolf Harris is similarly enjoying a popularity with an audience that once would have rejected him, but this is almost entirely due to the naffness of his image. His new admirers are laughing at him, rather than with him. Nevertheless, there is no gainsaying the entertainer's longevity, and being slightly skilled at a whole variety of things (painting, singing, etc.) has ensured that he has never been out of work. For those who can take the cloying aspects of the entertainer (in everything from the nauseating Two Little Boys up to Animal Hospital), this is a frank and diverting autobiography, reminding us that Harris worked with such stellar company as Tony Hancock, Woody Allen and John Lennon. The style is standard for this kind of memoir, and whether or not Rolf is the ultimate Renaissance man as his publishers claim, this is definitely the work of a survivor.

Rolf's autobiography ' Can you tell what it is yet? ' is about his rise from Bassendean in Western Australia seventy - one years ago, to becoming a household legend both sides of the world.
Not only does this book highlight Rolf's many great achievements throughout his triumphant journey, it also gives insights on his disasters, his struggles and his life regrets. He openly talks about his bleak depression that he sank into - and his horrors of finding out that he hadn't been a great father or husband.
However, every cloud has a silver lining and Rolf's certainly did - as he landed himself into the well suited role of the popular 'Animal Hospital' presenter.
This well written book can make you cry in one sentance and laugh out loud in the next. It also includes many past and present photographs from Rolf's personal album.
This book is a 'must' read for any Rolf Harris fans both young and old alike - but also a recommendation for any fame wannabes - as it shows that with determination you can achieve whatever you desire.
This autobiography proves that this most loved and respected musician, presenter and artist is infact an amazing true gentleman.
Long may Rolf keep entertaining us for many more years to come.

I could not put this book down. As a London Cab driver I like to have a book with me for when the work goes slack. But I was the parking Cab in back streets to finish it.
It made me laugh and it made me cry many times, but most for all it made me remember parts of my life that were both funny and sad.
In the early 1970`s when my wife and I were 20 we went on our first holiday abroad to Malta. We went to Rolf's club, he went round all the tables and spoke to all his guests but he forgot about us sitting at the back. During the show he remembered that he had not said hello and said Ill be over later. But my wife passed out with sunstroke and we had leave early.
Rolf if you get in the back for my cab I hope to tell you the storey and say hello.

Having admired Rolf Harris from afar for quite some time now I had huge anticipation for this book. Needless to say that Rolf's narrative filled all the holes that needed filling. The story runs from his early childhood in the outback town of Clunge in Australia right up to his modern day antics including his portrait of the Queen.
