In my late teens, having always been slim, I became a comfort eater and ballooned in size. It affected my self-esteem and I tried various diets for 2 years. None of them worked, it made me want to binge and so the weight increased.
In 1990, I read a book which told me to throw away my bathroom scales, eat what I wanted and not what I thought I SHOULD eat plus not to buy anything which had the wording "low calorie" on it. For 15 years, I kept the weight off by following the book's advice and along the way I threw the book out, thinking I'd never have a weight problem again.
However, 8 years ago I had a serious illness which completely threw everything off track. I subsequently recovered and the only reminder of my illness (to me) was the fact that I was overweight again and this continued for over 6 years. I assumed this was ok, accepted that I was too big and just avoided having my photo taken.
Last year, with the encouragement of family and the sight of a horrible photograph taken (of me) on Christmas Day, I decided to get back on track. I purchased this system back in April 2012, started using it immediately and although I don't weigh myself very often (you're not supposed to at all!), I am over a stone lighter and have been for several months. I know this will remain as long as I follow the system. I am quite short so a stone may not sound very much to you but it's the weight I was prior to my illness and that has boosted me so much.
PLEASE BE OPEN-MINDED, forget diets - they don't work - and just listen to the CD every day (at least for the first few months), fill in the 90-day diary and like me, also re-visit the book when you need a bit of encouragement. 10 months on, I listen to the CD on average about once a week, it's only 26 mins. long and personally, I know it's the main tool in keeping me on track.
Best of luck!
