Whilst, I was lukewarm about the normal version of this cooker, it having no windshield, this version more than makes up for it by having the STOPGAS feature and so is technically useable indoors (IN A LARGE WELL VENTILATED ROOM). About time!.

Campingaz, only sells these in France and Germany, the UK being not thought of as suitable to have this safety feature. Shame on them.

Good cooker. Use outdoors on a camp kitchen to get protection from wind.

Uses inexpensive CP250 original or clone cartridges. (Campingaz original ones are 250g and copies are usually 227g)

Does not have a fixed simmer setting like Camping Kitchen stopgas stove. Does not light with a match.

product is 10/10. absolutely great. the real problem is dopey stupid and totally indifferent amazon who think everything they sell is just fine to be shipped in their very cheap single wall boxes with their recycled toilet paper. no, amazon...it is not fine.....take this item as an example....you dont sell much that can injure or kill your customers but exploding butane gas cans and/or appliances must surely be such a commodity...so why the hell dont you invest in some decent tri-wall sturdy boxes and some better internal packaging material for these items because with your current "one size" fits all packaging ideals, i have ended up with a twisted gas appliance that would have leaked gas and very likely exploded. I kid you not. Amazon, you sell a lot of these great little stoves so how many that you have shipped have slight damage not enough for the customer to notice but enough to leak a bit of gas....amazon...wake up....inform your management team and immediatley change your packaginbg for these commodities. I have written to the health and safety executive as i doubt you will care or even listen. not good enough. you get so much right but this is not tolerable. go away and improve.

this is a product to only use with caution and a lot of care. its a great idea and its the very best of all similar looking products (many of which i have tried and a few of which are so badly made, i would NOT even want to light them !!) ..especially with the stop gas safety device that quickly stops the gas supply if the flame dies. none of the others have this feature. my issue is that it is made from very thin bendy steel (basically all the parts you can see in the picture that are blue). it simply will not take a decent sized pan and it is very easy for the uninformed user to get this wrong. the stove is ideal for lighter weight camping grade utensils and smaller main kitchen pans. if you only own large and heavy le creuset pots then forget it with this stove. the great positives are that its totally self contained, very very portable and ideal for infrequent short term uses like power cuts and camping trips. it will produce hot water and hot food when everything else has failed. its easy to use and safe if you respect the fact that butane can turn into a deadly bomb if you dont respect it. gas cartridges for this are sold everywhere but i would only recommend the genuien camping gas cans and NOT the cheap chinese clones as their quality is not good. overall verdict???? 10/10 if you are safety aware and cautious.

Well, I've just tested this product at home before taking it out in the mountains later this year, so at this point I can't comment on its durability and reilability (but they give you a 2year warranty anyway) but first impressions are incredibly good.

This product seems to have got just about everything right. The price is excellent and so is the design. It appears to be really well made and is extremely light which is just what you need if you're wild camping or taking it with you on a trek. I tried cooking a couple of things on it and it and the job was done in just a few minutes and the food cooked superbly. I expected the gas bottle to be cumbersome to attach and the ignition to be hit and miss, but no! The bottles are really easy to attach and the ignition lights the stove first time! Judging by the design I don't think the wind would put the flame out easily and, if it does, the stove has the stopgas system for safety.

You also get a quality carry case that actually has enough room in to carry a small toasting grill as well! Oh yea, the stove also looks damn good.

Based on my initial tests this product is fantastic and the only downside is that I wish I had more time to get out there and use it!

We all know we can get gas burners similar to this for around £10 but I have seen some of the cheap one's and it is a case of buy cheap, buy twice. I decided that for the cost, I'd rather pay a bit more and get a cooker that would last. This does the job and the added stopgas feature just gives a bit more safety - something that I think is worth it around Gas. This also gives the ability to use indoors if required (well ventilated space etc) which may be handy as we enter a world of power shortages & storms.

No idea why this stop gas version is not more commonly available in the UK but at least amazon stock it.
