Good for beginners

What the other reviewers say is true, some time signatures would have been helpful. I do know most of the songs (heavily slanted to 1960s-1970s folk). I'm a very new beginner and I use this book with my guitar lessons so I get guidance from my teacher. It's a very basic book with tabs and lyrics. Nothing fancy here, but I think it's a good value with lots of songs of that era and decent arrangements to practice on.

Basic Chords, Unfamiliar Songs

I was quite disappointed with this book. I had hoped it would include more recognizable music, stuff I grew up singing, stuff everybody grew up singing, but most of the titles were brand new to me. As for the music itself, it's just chords and lyrics, no strum pattern suggestions, not even timings (3/4, 4/4, etc.) to help you get started. You can get this stuff free on the Internet to just about any song you want. So, I wouldn't suggest spending the money.

The title tells it all; this book is just the chords and lyrics to forty folk songs. If I had seen it in the store, I would have passed on this book.
