Product Description

This sequel to the popular Camp Rock movie follows Mitchie Torres (Demi Lovato), Shane Gray (Joe Jonas), Jason (Kevin Jonas), Nate (Nick Jonas) and their friends as they return to Camp Rock for another great summer of music and fun. However they soon learn that a new state-of-the-art music/performance camp, Camp Star, has opened across the lake and has lured away many of Camp Rock instructors and campers--putting the future of Camp Rock in jeopardy. Much to the campers' shock, Tess Tyler (Meaghan Jette Martin) ditches Camp Rock for Camp Star.

When Camp Star's hotshot performer, Lucas Williams (Matthew "Mdot" Finley), challenges Camp Rock to a musical showdown to see which camp really has the stronger musical talent, everyone prepares for the ultimate battle of the bands. There's only one catch; whichever camp loses will shut down for good.

From Amazon.co.uk

A summer spent at music camp is all about fun, friends, and making music together, and Mitchie (Demi Lovato) can't wait to return to Camp Rock to see her friends (Alyson Stoner, Meaghan Martin) and spend some quality time with Shane (Joe Jonas). Unfortunately, greed, rivalry, and the relentless pursuit of perfection threaten to sour the whole Camp Rock experience when the new Camp Star across the water lures many of the Camp Rock campers and counselors away. The new enterprise promises industry exposure and higher pay and then challenges Camp Rock to a high-stakes final jam challenge that threatens to put the camp out of business. Mitchie rises to the challenge and takes on a huge leadership role, finding replacement counselors and working to create a winning show for the final jam, but the pressure to win affects everyone's camp experience, making it less about fun and the enjoyment of music and more about winning the competition. It also leaves Mitchie and Shane with virtually no time to spend together. Camp Rock 2 has an abundance of good, memorable songs presented with lots of energetic choreography. The characters are generally more likable and believable than they were in the original Camp Rock, but the plot could be more engaging: while viewers will certainly root for Mitchie and the camp to succeed, neither Mitchie nor this film's new characters (Chloe Bridges, Matthew "Mdot" Finley) inspire a particularly overwhelming emotional investment. Nonetheless, tweens and teens will love Camp Rock 2--they'll watch it repeatedly, memorize the words with the help of the rock-along special feature, and probably learn a few new dance moves. (Ages 7 and older) --Tami Horiuchi

I am embarassed to say this but the first Camp Rock film, along with Monsters Inc are my favourite films. Although not as good its proceeder, Camp Rock 2 suceeds as a good sequel. The songs are catchy, the dance numbers are extatic and the story is solid. Mitchie cant wait to return to Camp Rock and make music with superstar Shane Gray. But Mitchies hopes of a fantastic summer are soon shattered when she finds out about the new slick camp across the lake. I dont want to give too much aay but this is a charming film! Songs will be sung, Rivals will be made and romance, will brew! 10/10 I would reccomend it to anyone!

This film is about Mitchie when she returns to Camp Rock and how they face the problem of losing their camp. The dancing is good, however, apart from one memorable song all the others were very dissapointing. Esspecially the main song at the competition. I was looking forward to a big finale song at the competition but I was so dissapointed with it and forgot what it sounded like nearly as soon as it ended. Overall fans of the first film might like to watch it as it carries on the story but be prepared that it isn't as good as the first and the ending is a let down.

Disney Channel and tween stars seem to go hand in hand these days, and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam is the latest attempt to cash in on this market. A made for TV movie that's a sequel to a made for TV movie, it takes up back to the title camp for a second summer of fun, music, and hard work. Speaking of hard work, the writers obviously put some into this movie because the story actually holds together better than the first one.

Mitchie Torres (Demi Lovato) is excited to be going back to Camp Rock. She's ready to have some fun, reconnect with her friends, and work on her music. Oh yeah, and Shane Gray (Joe Jonas) is coming back again this year, so they just might be able to officially start their relationship.

But it isn't long before Mitchie and her friends figure out something is wrong. There aren't as many people at camp this year. Seems everyone is heading to Camp Star across the lake. Camp Star is being run by Axel, a former band member of Camp Rock's founder Brown Cesario (Daniel Fathers). The first night, Axel manages to steal several campers and most of the counselors from Camp Rock.

The only reason Camp Rock stays open is because Mitchie and the older campers agree to take on counselor duties. But then Mitchie gets the idea of challenging Camp Star to a head to head musical showdown. Can Camp Rock pull off a number to save the camp?

My big problem with the first movie was a story that seemed to gloss over the needed resolution. While this movie doesn't have long drawn out moments, it does a much better job of showing us the resolution to the story so the happy ending doesn't feel forced. And there are some great moments in the climax that are merely pictures.

This film is entertaining enough but I didn't think it was as good as the first film, it does contain some good songs and any fan of the first movie or the likes of High School Musical will probably enjoy it.

My daughter has got both Camp Rock 1 and 2. She prefers Camp Rock 2 because they have a big singing competition against Camp star. There is lots of fun and games and a water fight.
