4.0 out of 5 stars CAMlink TP-2800 Tripod 14 Jan 2008
I was surprised just how good this tripod was; the two spirit level bubbles are really useful when setting up the camera. The hook underneath is also useful for keeping the tripod steady. Generally a well made product. The arm was sufficiently long and with a comfortable rubber handle. My last tripod's arm was very short and was hard plastic and three sided.

There were two big surprises when I opened the package; first there was a good quality carry case enclosed, which was not in the specification; which was great...

The second surprise however took the shine off, what would have been an exceptionally good buy for the money; there was no "3-way oil fluid head" and "- feature the Oil Fluid head for smooth operation" was also an incorrect claim by Amazon.

In summing up I would say this tripod represents exceptionally good value for money; you cannot go wrong for just £17.24. I checked all the other tripods on Amazon and could not find a better specification offered for the same money!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nearly 5 Star quality 17 Jun 2008

I agree with Clive's review in that this tripod is a quality product at a very reasonable price. It has nearly everything you could want from budget tripod. The build is good & is very sturdy in use. The ease of operation to set it up is very good - when you need to get ready to shoot an important event, it's imperative to set up quickly.
However, also as Clive said, it doesn't incorporate a "3 Way oil fluid head", as it advertises. If you need to pan smoothly, this probably isn't the tripod for you. However, I get around this by keeping the legs folded in & pivoting the unit like a monopod. All-in-all, this is still good value & I would still recommend for budding camera operators.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dissatisfied 20 Jan 2011

I ordered this product based on price (in view that it wouldn't be used very much - so didn't want to spend too much) and the good reviews. When it arrived I found that the tilt head plate on which the camera sits would not lie flat. This would appear to be an inherent design fault. I then revisited the reviews and found that one reviewer had a similar problem. I have returned the product and will not ask for a replcement.

The top of this product does not sit straight meaning my picture are also not straight. Pretty annoying. Yes I could alter one of the legs to make it straight but why should I?! Read more
