I walked el Camino de Santiago last year, and most of German-speaking pilgrims I met on the road were carrying this small light-weight book in their pants pocket. Although it is small, this book contains very good maps with detailed information on albergues (pilgrims' accommodation) and other useful guides along the way, and most of the data is very accurate. I highly recommend it to anyone who is planning to walk the camino. Buen camino!

I carried this little book weighing just 220 grams 11.5 x 16.5cm x 1cm thick on my Camino, starting at St Jean Pied de Port. I rate this book as the best one to buy, it is full of excellent information, east to read, the maps are the best I have seen, a full description on each stage, detailing all the local services in every village you pass through, gradients, mileage charting, and of course a full comprehensive list of Pilgrim Hostels along The Way detailing types, prices and amenities. Packed full of small color photos with a wonderfully written explanation on the History. Although stages are provide there is as much information on every little village you pass through allowing one to plan out their own daily distance. My little red was always at hand and made great bed time reading. Just one little bit of advice fix a ribbon onto the spine so you can find your page easily. I would highly recommend this book - Bien Camino
