Whilst a rather slim and compact volume, this book is packed with information about the major camera manufacturers of the period and the development of their product lines. Economic factors, such as the post war import restrictions in Britain, are also discussed, as are developments in films, flash, camera features, and lenses.
The book's main chapters are arranged by type, such as snapshot, roll-film folding, non-reflex miniature, reflex, subminiature, and special purpose (underwater, stereo and Polaroid). Each chapter has sections for each major camera producing country, which describes the manufacturers and their cameras, with some discussion of special features. There are many photos of the cameras discussed.
Overall, a great book for an aspiring collector, or any photographer with an interest in history.
