(REAL NAME)   
I saw "The Cameram's Revenge as part of a program of early soviet film and was completely agog at the poetic quality of the film making, the poignancy of the storytelling and the unrestrained, bawdy farce created by stop frame animation. Highly theatrical, witty and astonishingly beautifully observed, we are treated to an entomological re-reading of the very best of Feydeau or Moliere. Quite extraordinary!

Ladislaw Starewicz or Wadysaw Starewicz or Vladislav Starevich [yes same name but with 3 different spellings] is amazing. His animation are beautiful and remarkable when you think of the ordeal of stop motion using old fashioned cameras in the 1910s and I was really pleased to see I could buy this DVD and see all his work, other than the few extracts I could find on youtube and elsewhere online.

If you're interested in Soviet animation, East Europe animation or general stop motion animation, definitely buy this!
