This review is from: On Camera : Essential Know-how for Programme-makers (Paperback)
This is really a beginner's guide to making television programmes, detailing topics such as camera positioning, editing, research and budgeting issues.

None of these are done to any great detail though, so this book should really be used alongside more formal training if you intend to go into programme making professionally.

There are references to a fictional failing television production company that is supposed to make you see how thing can be done the wrong way quite easily. I didn't find this very useful because they seemed to be making very obvious mistakes.

If you have video production as a hobby it may be helpful for making productions look a little bit more professional, but for industry people there is nothing new to be learned from this book.
