3.0 out of 5 stars If the products does not seem to work... 15 Jun 2012
By Ian

The product does work, though the ipad is very restrictive on what you can do and may appear that the device does not work.It would be nice if there were instructions, since it took me a while to find the solution:

Symptoms: Plugged this into the ipad and tried usb thumbdrives, camera via usb or sd cards but nothing happens. May get a message saying the device is incompatable.

Solution: The ipad will only look in a folder called "DCIM" attached to the connector and not in any other folders or even subfolders under "DCIM". Many cameras store their photos under other sub-folders (for example my Nikon does) and therefore the ipad does nothing because it does not see any photos. The solution, is the make sure that you create a folder (on your SD card etc) called DCIM and put the photos you want to transfer directly into it, then hopefully it will find and import them.

If you get a message saying the device is incompatable, just click OK and ignore it - it seems to work.

Since this is an ipad issue, I believe the issue described here is true for all camera connectors and not just ones coming through this company (including Apple's own device).

5.0 out of 5 stars Betron Camera Connection Kit Works well 2 Oct 2012
Verified Purchase
I have been using this camera connection kit for some time now and am very happy with how well it works.

When I first began to use it a message would often pop up telling me that 'this device is not supported by Apple'. That, I believe, is just Apple trying to put you off and trying to make you pay more for their own device. I suppose it is possible that, if anything went wrong with your Ipad, Apple might say that using this device had invalidated your warranty, but I am not sure if that would be the case. Anyway, despite the warnings I have found this connection kit works really well and have not had any problems.

I have used it to transfer photographs from a card removed from my camera. Best of all though, I worked out how to put photographs from my computer on to a spare SD card and then use the connection kit to put those on my Ipad. As others might like to do this I've explained how I did it below.

The major advantage of transferring photographs from your computer to your Ipad via an SD card and your Camera connection kit is that once they are on your Ipad you can use all the features on your Ipad such as deleting a photograph or moving it to a different position in an album. Irritatingly, these features and the ability to delete albums are disabled if you transfer your photographs via Itunes and Icloud. That is daft as many people will want to be able to put enhanced photographs on their Ipad or, if space is a consideration, put compressed photographs on it.

If you want to use the connection kit to transfer photographs to your Ipad from your computer you will need to make sure the transferred photos look like they have been put on your SD card from your camera.

Its a brilliant wee gadget!!! Does exactly what its supposed to do. I use it all the time and have managed to download several pictures from my camara memory card to my iPad. Just pop the card into the card slot and then into your iPad, wait a few seconds and all your images are there infront of you. Select which you want to save and away it goes. Im not very technical minded and I managed to work it first time. Havent used it any other way. I did read several reviews proior to purchase and wasnt sure, but its great! Certainly saved a packet compared to the apple version. Item arrived within timelines given. Great value for money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Need to create DCIM file 24 Aug 2012
Verified Purchase
As a previous review

Tried to use the connection kit. At first it did not work on IPAD 3.
Was about to return, but read up on reviews. It seems the kit will not recognise
photos unless in a folder named DCIM. Also it will not rcognise any sub folders in DCIM

Solution was to move photos directly into the DCIM folder on the SD card so they were not
in a sub folder. The kit seemed to like this and lo and behold loaded onto IPAD for import
either as selected or all. However the format means a lot of memory.

I also tried out a memory stick with folder DCIM and photos directly in the folder and it worked.

Also you get a message IPAD does not support this device, click and it disappears - as long as photos
are in a folder named DCIM it seems OK.

Because of the need to intervene and crate a folder or move photos on SD card I rate it 3 star

I wanted a connection from my iPad to download pictures quickly and for not too much money.
After reading the reviews I decided to try this one, reviews were all good and I would totally recommend this product , downloads pictures so quickly you can have them all on your iPad in no time at all.
Although you do get a message adding these are not compatible with the Ipda, it works very well.
If you want a a great product at a great price but this
