I bought this for my boyfriend - a keen amateur photographer - and he absolutely loved it!
Although just thick plastic moulding on the outside, there are nice little details on it, like a rubberised 'zoom' ring, little raised buttons (which do not move, but that's wise as they'd only harbour water/liquid when you rinsed it) and realistic print. I'd mistake it for the real thing for sure. The lid is a nice touch too; although we've not tested how leak-proof it is, I reckon it'd survive a gentle commute.
The stainless steel inner is a wise move too; there are some models on-line that don't have it - I'd avoid them like the plague. It's worth paying more for a decent one, and this is one of them.
In a nutshell; this is well-made, realistic and fun novelty item which will be in use for years!

This makes a nice gift for camera enthusiasts. It looks similar to the real thing, is a good size, and has the metal inner layer as others have noted. I was excited when I placed the order but I'm now relatively indifferent about the mug overall.
I don't know what other reviewers were sent but the product I received most certainly didn't come with any Canon tie bag as JuliaV1"mrsv1969" mentions.
Looking at the first photo it would appear that this mug is Canon branded. IT IS NOT. It is in fact branded "Caniam", a cheap Chinese imitation knock-off. What bugs me the most is the disappointment as a result of having expected a Canon brand, after being misled by a seemingly reliable review and a lack of detailed supporting product photos.
I would like make a request to the seller - PLEASE STATE PRODUCT DETAILS CLEARLY. This isn't Canon branded, please say so.

The Canon Coffee Mug is amazing and my husband loved it. The surprise on his face said it all.
The product is extremely well made and looks just like a camera lens. Being Canon fans that would be a hard thing to manage but this product is amazingly life like to an original lens. Shame real lenses are not so light - our camera bodies would appreciate it : )
Although we've not used it for liquids yet, the inside of the cup is made of sturdy stainless steel so will be totally fine for a hot cup of Joe. It looks great on the desk and is a perfect gift for any photography lovers who want a very unique and fun gift. It comes with a Canon tie bag and a quirky lid (I'm not going to tell you what it is) - the only thing I will say is there's a special knack to fixing it - turn it counter clockwise and it fits the top perfectly.
I also want to take this opportunity of thanking salesHub for their amazingly quick dispatch of this product. Thanks very much - great service and speedy turnaround from order to receipt of product.
