Book Description

25 Aug 2012
Many believe that a werewolf becomes such a beast by the full moon and takes human form again once the night has ended. But the oldest legends tell us that once you turn you are always the beast that lies within the darkest reassesses of your soul, for after it is let free it can never be controlled again. For a film crew investigating one such legend this night will provide them with the proof they didn't expect and a fight for their survival they didn't want and may not win. There is a beast in all of us. Can yours be controlled?

More About the Author

About the Author

Martyn Ellington was born and raised in the north east of England where he still lives with his three children. He left school at 16 and worked in both the motor industry and financial services before taking a two year sabbatical to be with his children in 2008.

It was then he wrote his first novella 'Yesterday's Flight' which has been compared very favourably to Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park by Booklore. The title had also gained interest from an LA film company and he is currently in pre-production of an audio book version. Martyn's second title 'The Harvesting' received another great review from Booklore and customers alike with one such review thanking the fact it is only fiction and not real. The Harvesting has also enjoyed success on the Kindle platform and Martyn has developed a screenplay based on the story, he is currently looking for a production company to pick up the project. His next novella 'The Werewolf of Camera 4' is a story based on the increasingly popular format of TV shows such as Destination Truth and is set in Wales (UK). It tells the story of the legend of a large werewolf which is said to stalk the area around Denbigh, this his third book has received further high praise from readers with one review saying 'I had to read this story in the day'.

He has now finished his fourth book a novel called 'When the world ended' this is now available on both formats and contains many twists and turns and some deeply disturbing glimpses of the choices we may have to face if everything came to an end. His next project is a new book which is in the early stages of writing and should be available around Summer 2015. The title 'Peter' promises to be a change from Martyn's usual adult led books, rather it will be targeted at the growing teenager market.

Thanks for reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! 3 April 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Having been on the lookout for a story which had a traditional monster (vampire, ghost, werewolf) and a survival horror element I found this book which ticked all the boxes.
For me this story was paced just right, the characters were spot on and the ending was satisfying.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a traditional werewolf story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Unrelenting Bristish Werewolf Story 29 April 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This fair barrels along, there is no attempt to get into the psyche of the monster, it is simply that, a monster, an unremitting predator that means to kill all in it's path.
This is a novella and was over too quickly for my liking, but as with a lot of these the story is far from over at the climax of the book.
I thoroughly recommend this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Camera 4 review 21 Sep 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Having read Martyn Ellingtons 2 previous books ( Yesterday's Flight and The Harvesting ) I was waiting in anticipation for the next, Camera 4.
I wanted to purchase the paperback, but this wasn't going to be available until August/September time. I was holidaying in Spain when the Kindle version was released so I downloaded it. I was not disappointed. Once I started reading , I had to finish it. I found it to be a different slant on the usual vampire stories, and it kept me guessing until the very end.
All in all a very good read and well thought out.I am still going to purchase the paperback to build up a library of Martyn's books, and hope that there will be more in the pipeline.
Keep the writing going Martyn.

4.0 out of 5 stars Scary Werewolf 10 Sep 2012

A really good book all the way through but for the ending which sort of tailed off, and ran out of steam. As professional film-makers, this hapless group of characters didn't manage to get any film footage of the beast - unlikely and VERY unlucky! This story faded over the last few pages. If I had written it, I would have made a much clearer link between the beast and the tall policeman back at the Inn. The fact that the survivors of this happening just bolt and take up the reins of their previous lives without any huge national investigation being carried out, (which would never happen in reality), was unbelievable and disappointing. Apart from that, this is an entertaining werewolf story and frightened me enough to read it only in daylight!
