This is a beautifully presented collection bringing together 115 tracks which follow the history of this important label covering the period when rock and roll mutated into pop and the rise of the teen idol, what Jerry Lee Lewis called the "Bobbies". This will not fit in your CD rack since it is produced in book format with four CDs and 24 pages of information about the label and it's artists, it's relationship with Dick Clark's American Bandstand.
You'll find Charlie Gracie, Chubby Checker, Bobby Rydell, The Orlons ,Dee Dee Sharp, and loads of others. The set also includes the label's attempts to cash in on the British Invasion of the early sixties with tracks by Joe Brown, The Kinks and Screaming Lord Sutch among others.
Sound quality is excellent and for those who remember the fifties and early sixties this is a must have.
