This is my first time with a Camelbak bladder. I needed to get a new bladder as mine was starting to get moldy.

This is Camelbak's latest bladder and is noticeably thinner than other 3L bladders, this means that's it's much easier to put in and take out of a backpack.

It is very easy to fill and clean. The opening is large enough for a man's hand to reach the bottom of the bladder. Also the bladder has clearly indicated lines on the bag showing 1L, 2L etc so you can instantly see how much water you are putting into it. This is very useful for example if you mix up your own energy drink or you mix energy drink and water.

It might not be the cheapest bladder on the market but it is very well made, and doesn't leak. The on/off valve is the yellow piece of plastic on the mouthpiece. This is not mentioned in the instructions or on their website. After using it you need to push the yellow plastic onto the mouthpiece. If not liquid starts to drip.

Highly recommended.

As with all bladders, to reduce the sloshing sound turn it upside down after filling and suck out all the excess air.

I've used Camelbaks for years now, but bought a new one because I needed an insulated hose and the new hoses have the new click-on connectors on them (instead of just pushing onto the outlet like they used to). The latest design has a number of improvements - the lid is easier to open and close (needs only a quarter turn), the new connectors feel more secure but also more versatile than before, and the internal divider in the reservoir gives it a bit more structure and makes it easier to fill.

Overall, a worthwhile upgrade.

I have used Camelbak reservoirs for years. I do a lot of mountain biking and they are great products. The reservoirs can be interchanged with other backpacks, so you don't have to use a Camelbak backpack if you don't want to. I have a Lezyne backpack, and I found the Camelbak reservoir far superior.

The flow through the tubing seems better on Camelbak products, and this is very important when you are huffing and puffing, as you don't want to spend too much time sucking through the tube to get a good deal of water.

The openings on these new Camelbak reservoirs are much easier to open and close, only takes a quarter of a turn - so kudos for that. The new reservoirs also have little plastic 'wings' that fold out inside them to allow better/quicker airing/drying.

Lastly, the quick release at the bottom of the reservoir works well, but I am sceptical to how long it will last. I thought the older style - push fit and leave it style was simpler/better/less likely to leak.

This has held up really well over several hikes. The weight when full is a bit much for weaker hikers though so be sure you really need this size. Only issue is the hose is very tricky to clean and takes an age to dry out but that's not a problem specific to this product and you can buy cleaning kits to deal with this.

This is the first reservoir I have used and it worked well. Easily holds 2.0l and is very light. The product never leaked and I picked up a good tip from a previous review to expel excess air before sealing to prevent the water sloshing around. This meant the product was comfortable and easily fitted into a small backpack.

The connecting pipe from the reservoir to the mouth piece was flexible but perhaps a little too inflexible. I had the reservoir in a backpack with the pipe over my shoulder. At times it was not always as easy as I had wanted it to be to reach. This was not a major problem and maybe if I had some way of fixing it on my outer clothing it would have been perfect.

I definitely recommend this product.

Bit tricky to open as it is kind of stiff and resulted in a few spillages. You have to be careful not to overfill it as it can leak. Took this with me to Kilimanjaro, did the job and kept me rehydrated! Good size too as it can be manouvered into small backpacks.

Under pressure the connector between the bladder and the tube leaks. I have to put mine inside a carrier bag before use to keep the rucksack dry. Will be taking back to the shop soon.

Fantastic upgrade from the previous version. Very practical to handle and to dry.
So far (1 year later+) it wasn't even necessary to clean the tube!
