This was a hilarious and heart-warming read. I have never seen anything like it. These characters will stay with you for a long time to come. They are alive far beyond the pages of the novel. They aren't just credible, they are REAL. There is a quiet wisdom about the book that makes you relfect even as you laugh...

This book is great fun and made me laugh out loud. An excellent and heart-warming poke at Asian prejudices.

I bought this book because I heard it mentioned on local radio and thought it sounded fun.The characters are likable but not a lot happens really. I also found that the author used so many descriptions of local routes and places that I got picky about this display of knowledge. For instance she referred several times to the Sixth Form College. Yet there are two free standing sixth form colleges in Cambridge with very definite identities and a local would say 'he went to Hills Rd' or 'Long Road'. But this is just me being picky. I would certainly read the author's next book but would hope for some more plot to support the excellent characterisation.
