This is an excellent overview of the current state of Vygotsky studies by well-recognised names in the field. Anyone looking for an in-depth introduction to Vygotsky's work would be well advised to start here. The range of his work is covered, from the relationships between thought and language to special needs education and everything in between. The book is spoiled, however, by the Editors' Introduction. This appears to be rushed. There are numerous typos and grammatical errors and at least one missing reference. This is disappointing in a book of this calibre. However, this aside, it is an excellent book and good value for money.
