Dirty Jim's Swizzle Club on the waterfront of Port of Spain, Trinidad, was the venue in the fifties where tourists mingled with the island s cognoscenti to hear the great calypsonians of the age. Sadly the nightclub is long gone and much of the sound of this era is gone with it. These recording sessions re-create the spirit of the club featuring the living legends of calypso, including Mighty Sparrow and Calypso Rose, and a band of older musicians that play in the original style - Syl Dobson s Orchestra. This new edition of the album brings together the original soundtrack and movie in one package at a special price, with new artwork and sleeve notes.
