Calvin Dytham is a Reader in Ecology in the Department of Biology at the University of York, UK. His research interests cover ecology and evolutionary biology with the ecology and evolution of dispersal strategies as a central theme. He has been teaching statistics with a strong practical and pragmatic focus since 1993 and his book 'Choosing and Using Statistics: A Biologist's Guide' follows that approach. Now in its third edition and expanded to include the free package, R, 'Choosing and Using Statistics' has been a popular book with both undergraduate and graduate students for over a decade.
