Great book. Thanks very much for the nice calvados I found when visiting Normandy ;) The map and adresses to producers are very helpful. I've looked for the information not to find it anywhere else. From what I know this is the only book on calvados.

Finally a book about calvados. I got this from a bookshop just recently and must recommend it to fellow lovers of fine spirits. The pictures from Normandy are very beatiful. The book is full of maps and illustrations. It's like a well made schoolbook for grownups. It covers all: the history, how to make it and how to drink it, the producers, drinks and cooking, things to see and do if you go there, a map with all the producers marked out. I'm very impressed. Nothing is left out - I highly recommend it.

Great book for visiting Calvados, Normandy, France 11 April 2006
By David Andersson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I really found this book useful for my trip to Normandy. The hundreds of adresses and the detailed map to producers I have found nowhere else. Thanks to the book I got some unforgettable visits and unique Calvados. Great inspiration, entertaining facts and illustrations combined with pictures of the beatiful lush green landscape and half timbered houses of Normandy. I recommend it to anyone that's interested in fine spirits.

Beautifully presented book, it explores all aspects of the subject from myths to apples to cider to distillation into calvados. Wonderfully illustrated with many photos of Normandy evoking the spirit of the land(forgive the pun). Highly recommended
