5.0 out of 5 stars IT'S CALLED BIBLE FOR A VERY GOOD REASON!, 21 Oct 2003
By A Customer
This is the only book you will need if you need to know nutritional values - whatever diet or lifestyle plan you are on.
I am on 'low - carb' and have not yet found a food that is not in this book (including supermarket ready meals!)
The best thing is everything is listed alphabetically so it very quick to use.
BUY IT, BUY IT, BUY IT!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best book I've found for losing weight, 14 Dec 2001
By A Customer
I bought this book nearly three weeks ago and it really has changed my life! That might sound a bit corny but I've struggled to lose weight for years, now I know why. First off the book tells you how many calories you should be eating in a day for your weight/height etc, and how many to eat to lose weight. It then tells you to write everything down every day and add up all the calories, by looking up the food in the book. You immediately know if you have eaten too many calories, and what you actually do, if you want to lose weight, is eat less calories than your daily allowance. It's working for me, and is really making me think about what I eat. The best thing about it is there's no restriction on what you eat, and no things that you can't have - its up to you to eat a combination of food in a day to make the right number of calories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive, useful, informative, 3 Jan 2002
By A Customer
A really comprehensive list of what calories, fat, protein etc our food contains. This book includes pre packed foods from a lot of the supermarkets, vital information. I used the lists to work out my shopping over the Christmas/New Year period, and where my weight usually soars at this time of year, managed to keep my weight gain to 1½ lbs. An immense improvement on other years.
The book includes calories etc for alcoholic drinks as well as food and this I found invaluable.
Not just for this time of year though, a good book to have all year round.
