I've recently bought the 2012 version of this book, after buying 2011 version. Last year I was told that I required an operation, but before I could I needed to loose 5 Stone. I had previously over many years tried to loose weight using all different types of diets. The main reason that I had never succeded was bordom with the food, eat only this or that, and food was bland. When I had this book, it was totally different from all others.
Although called 'Bible' there is no one in the book preaching to you. The first part of the book gives you advice in calorie input, calorie output and getting into the right state of mind. Using this book I could eat what I wanted, beefburgers, pizza, fries by counting the calories. Calorie counting is the main object of this diet. This book gets you into a new way of thinking e.g. if I eat a burger, I could have eaten this or that instead, but retaining the naughty option. I eventually used the calorie listings to make a calorie list of my favourite foods, refering to the book for specialities and treats.
I lost Six and Half Stone in eight months. My Surgeon could not beleive how well I had done, he enquired who my dietition was, 'Just me and the fat bible'. I am continuing to monitor my weight by using the books information. My blood pressure and cholesterol have dropped and my asthema eased. I have lost 10 inches from my waist.
I'm not saying that you do not have to have commitment, but those temptations can be worked into the diet and you dont crave what you can have. I hope this review is of help to people that find themselves in the position that I was, or to those that have drawn a blank with other diets. Good Luck!
