Amber plays guitar and sings. Ed plays the drums. That sounds nice, doesn't it? Well, Amber plays her guitar with massive amounts of distortion and Ed pounds like there's no tomorrow. Amber's guitar somehow sounds like a bass and a guitar at the same time (I've seen 'em live and can assure that they are every bit as heavy, if not more so, on stage). On top of that, they write songs that stick in your head. Picture a combination of Melvins and Portishead. That doesn't do them justice. Oh, I don't know what to write, just get this CD!!! (and their new EP, Lambs, which is even heavier but much shorter). Like I said, this is my favorite album of 1998, over heavyweights like Boredoms "Super æ" and the debut from Queens of the Stone Age.
