Both my 11 year old son and 7 year old daughter have been using this book, my son generally avoids anything to do with pen and paper but has spent hours perfecting his calligraphy writing skills with this book. His penmanship seems to have improved, a definite bonus. My daughter has always loved writing and doodling and loves learning new ways to write letters and she is finding the book instruction very easy to follow.

As a calligrapher, I was specifically looking for a book to inspire 'kids' This is not it(in my opinion)It has only what can be found in ANY calligraphy book; it is lacking in interest + inspiration. Very poor.

I bought this book as I have a granddaughter who is interested in learning callography and it is difficult to find classes for teens. I found it to be a wonderfully detailed text with basic and advanced alphabets with guides and pen choice information, perfect for all ages and not just beginners.
A primer for anyone interested in learning calligraphy, with emphasis on the importance of practice to perfect your technique. A great gift for anyone interested in the craft.
