Manufacturer's Description

Call of Juarez the Cartel Image 1 Screen 2 Screen 3 Screen 4

Call of Juarez: The Cartel is the third installment of the Western action shooter video game franchise, Call of Juarez. Call of Juarez: The Cartel includes the same attributes of a great Western shooter, upgraded to reflect modern times. For instance, instead of outlaws and brothels, you'll find cartel kingpins and strip clubs. But make no mistake, the spirit of the Wild West is still very much alive. You'll experience the lawlessness of the old country as you fight to take down a powerful drug cartel in a world where every man is out for himself.

Experience a Gripping, Cinematic Story

When a Mexican drug cartel bombs a U.S. law enforcement agency, the U.S. government puts together a special task force to hunt them down. Play as Ben McCall, a brutal LAPD cop and descendent of Ray McCall, or Eddie Guerra, a DEA agent with a chronic-gambling habit, or gang-affiliated street kid turned FBI agent, Kim Evans. As you dig into the mystery of the bombing and fight to dismantle the cartel, you'll embark on a blood-soaked road trip through California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and, ultimately, Juarez, Mexico.

Key Features
  • Play the entire campaign with two friends in the three-player online cooperative mode
  • Huge selection of weapons including pistols, machine guns, sniper rifles, anti-air weapons and more
  • Wide variety of maps and missions including raids, witness protection, interrogation, undercover missions, shootings in a crowd, car chases and more
  • Addictive multiplayer modes

McCall often has good intentions of upholding the law… but doesn't mind crossing a moral boundary or two in the name of justice.

She is an intelligent, street-savvy agent who knows how to get the job done. Ruthless with a rifle, she demands respect from her partners and will stop at nothing to bring the Cartel leaders to their knees.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ubisoft, what have you done? 23 July 2011
By Neary
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Edition:Standard Edition
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
OMG, first of all I'm a massive ubisoft fan, the first two call of Juarez games were amazing. Never mind the prince of Persia games. Ubisoft rocks, (usually). What have you done? The graphics are pathetic, even my girlfriend who knows nothing about games commented on how dated this 'new' game looked that I was playing. The menus look like ms dos before windows was invented. I sooo wanted this game to be good like the two legends that came before it. They were visually stunning and the gameplay kept me entertained for days. This new addition left me wondering what the trade in value would be after an hour of so called gameplay. Do yourself a favour and give this a miss. Hopefully ubisoft will take heed and revert back to their usual high standards.
What a disappointment. Really wanted this to be good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Whats the problem 6 April 2012
Platform for Display:Xbox 360| Edition:Standard Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
People are moaning about the graphics i am very big on the graphics myself and i don't find that there is a problem with them yes they are not the best if your going to compare them to top selling games such as MW3 and other games like that. The story has a number of different twists and turns which has different result depending on the actions you make. So in all it really isn't that bad but after playing the game fully 5 times it does become boring.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good buy for the co-op lovers. 21 Jan 2012
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Edition:Standard Edition
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Now i bought this game hesitantly after a couple of friends and i were look for co-op games and one happened to own it, saying it was a great game. Now while most other reviews would say otherwise it is such an amazing game to play 3 player co-op in. If you have a co-op partner or two there are collectables scattered in each level and basicly you play good cop bad cop and have to get them while not being spotted while trying to spot your partners as well which always proves fun. The Campaign is fairly good, but then my expectations weren't to high in the first place. But to sum it up, its an alright single player game but is MUCH MUCH better with two buddy's!

4.0 out of 5 stars a good action game 22 July 2012
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Edition:Standard Edition
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
'Call of Juarez - The Cartel' may not be a Western game but it is still a very fun action game if you like good cop-gangster storylines.

Being a fan of games like Kane & Lynch, 'the Cartel' appealed to me from the start. Playing it reminded me of classic action films (Dirty Harry, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Death Wish, Police Story, etc).

It DOES have things in common with the previous games:
1. you can play all three characters and get different FPS experiences
2. each character has a substory that interweaves with the main story
3. you can pick up and use different weapons
4. if you play as Ben you can use 'concentration mode'

The game is not 100% perfect: playing it on the easier settings makes it too easy and the menu system and layout is not that inviting, it doesn't fit the game and doesn't generate interest.

However the body-rendering of people in most of the cutscenes is good, as is the look of the environment around you. The people at Techland know how to create environments that give you a sense of space.

This game should be played on the harder difficulty settings, otherwise it will be too easy. This kind of game is meant to be intense and raw.

The enemy AI is well done, I was surprised at how quickly they adapt to your position as you move around. They are also good at taking cover.

The gun and movement controls are good and quite similar to the previous games. Completing special tasks during missions unlocks new weapons. You can also pick up any weapons you find.

The AI of your companions are good. The game has a cover-and-attack function where your companion AI will provide gun cover for you as you approach the enemy and take them out (if you play as Ben).

3.0 out of 5 stars Great fun, but has it's faults. 22 Dec 2011
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Edition:Standard Edition
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I gave this game 5/5 for fun, and 3/5 for overall, because it does have it's faults. I have just completed the story mode, which I found very addictive to play. The story to this game is abit boring to follow, but at least you can skip alot of it. It's the gun play that make this game fun to play. If you can excuse the faults within in the game, then you'll enjoy it like I did. Shame the game feels abit rushed, and shame the developers didn't spend more time making this game, as it would have been excellent. I'm well happy though that I waited for the price to go down, and think the game is well worth a try at this little price to pay. One thing I must mention and that is the game should have been rated for an 18+. Enjoy

4.0 out of 5 stars The Good and The Ugly 24 Oct 2011
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Edition:Standard Edition
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Firstly this game is set in the modern west so the bad guys are not gunslingers and train robbers, they are drug and sex traffickers so this is a game for adults.
The graphhics are good apart from the characters faces and the voice acting is over the top but in a game like this I don't think that is inappropriate.
You will get lots of advice from your partners on when to run, shoot, take cover etc. and they will also make comments like " Try aiming" and Where did you learn to shoot that thing" which can become annoying after a while but they will praise you when you get a good shot.
There are lots of weapons, some crazy driving, massive explosions and shootouts so if you are an FPS fan and approach this game with an open mind there is a lot of fun to be had.
