Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the third installment in Infinity Ward's first person shooter franchise. The much anticipated CoD: MW3 will begin right after Modern Warfare 2 left off and players will get to control a Russian Federal Protective Services agent, SAS Operative, tank gunner, and AC-130 gunner as well as other characters from previous games. The game will have about 15 missions, starting with the invasion of Manhattan by a Russian force
Campaign
The player assumes the role of various characters during the single-player campaign, changing perspectives throughout the progression of the story, which, like its preceedors, is divided into three sets of missions called "Acts". Each mission in an act features a series of objectives that are displayed on the heads up display. Mission objectives vary in their requirements, ranging from having the player arrive at a particular checkpoint, to eliminating enemies in a specified location, to standing their ground against enemy squadrons, manning mini-guns and other weapons, and planting explosive charges on an enemy installation. Some of these objectives can be failed, and may or may not hinder progression of the story. The player is also accompanied by fellow soldiers who cannot be issued orders.
Cooperative
Modern Warfare 3 features a new mode, called Survival Mode. This game mode features one or two players fighting endless waves of enemies, with each wave becoming increasingly difficult. Despite being much compared to the World at War Nazi Zombies mode, enemies do not spawn at fixed locations like the zombies do; instead, they appear at tactical positions based on the current location of the player. The mode is available on all multiplayer maps in the game. Players earn cash for items such as weapons, upgrades, ammo, air/ground support and equipment. Special Ops also returns from Modern Warfare

I wasn't going to purchase MW3 because I was left bitterly disappointed by Black Ops (not that Black Ops was a poor game, it just wasn't a very good game), but after sticking on MW2 in January and realising what a good game that was, I decided to take the plunge and purchase the next installment.My impressions a few weeks later? The Campaign mode is similar to the previous one, it's short, full of fantastic cut scenes with fine cinematics, but after the first three missions, I found the game a chore to play through. In fact the only reason I finished the game was because I wanted to see the fates of Cpt Price and Makarov (which was an anti-climax). The Multiplayer is pretty good, the maps are smaller and it forces people into more close combat situations instead of allowing a person to sit in a building on Wasteland with a thermal scoped Intervention picking you off. The perks are mixture of perks from MW1 and MW2, so nothing new there. The weaponry hasn't changed much either, the P90 is still there, so is the Barrett sniper rifle and the Scar-H has been altered to the Scar-L. The killstreak reward system has been revamped and gives the player a lot more variety in choosing killstreak rewards, which impressed me. All in all MW3 just feels like an expansion pack for MW2 and that's quite disappointing given the cost of the game to purchase. MW3 to me feels rushed and not quite complete, especially when you look at the gulf in difference between MW1 and MW2. When I play MW3, I get the sense that Infinity Ward had run out of ideas and decided to make minor brush ups and went with the "if it's not broken, don't try to fix it" attitude when making this game and as such I feel short changed. MW3 is definitely worth getting if you have played the first two installments and want to know what happens to the main characters from MW2 in MW3, but other than that I would say that this game had the potential to be very good, but in the end for whatever reason(s) fell short of achieving this. 3/5 to me is a very fitting rating for this game, over and out.

I wrote a review but I have now put it down to 2 stars. The lag compensation is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in a game. Just because they are cheap and cbf to put dedicated servers in, they have to ruin it for those of us with good connections? Who cares about host advantage? Atleast the game worked before. Wasted £80 on this rubbish. The campaign I enjoyed very, very much. Spec ops is OK, I now take back calling is the Zombie killer. It is far from that. Multi player is okay, it plays well problems being lag compensation& TERRIBLE map design. I liked the map designs to start off with but these are 4v4 maps MAX. The spawns are terrible, the sounds (except snipers & the echo) are poor. Movement is smoother, but the MW series is possibly over, Multiplayer wise, IW need to stop with this run & gun thing, it don't work. They either need to go back to CoD4 or start a fresh, it needs tom be more tactical there is no tactics needed for this game AT ALL. I never thought I'd say this but I'm done with IW. Next game from them is a rental. Treyarch & SHG are the way forward. - CoD fanboy. I really hope the CoD maps return for download, thats the only way I see myself playing this game.

Campaign- Half way through, some fun to be had. Unfortunately, the gameplay style is too familiar now, making it feel like a bit of a chore to go through.Multiplayer- Far too much bullet damage, just like MW2. Why do they set it so high? Half the damage = twice the fun. Good firefights that last more than a nano-second are rare. Instantly moving to cover when you start to get hit rarely works because you're already dead. This makes it a horrible for me to play. It's repetitive insta-kill/death stuff- totally not fun. MW1 and WAW are fun. Black Ops can be fun, despite it's failings. I didn't find MW2 fun, because you die too quickly and for a host of other reasons; although it's technically the best multiplayer of the series. It's shocking how the marketing hype payed off and millions of people pre-ordered this, like me, and then felt ripped-off. Never again. If you have to buy it, try to get it for £20 or less. That's what it was worth at launch. 2115|R3HWLAPQ3Q01JJ;2115|R2QMSPN3RUUHNA;2115|R3H0WOY5BJGEKM;
