Product Description

Outnumbered and outgunned, but not outmatched

Call of Duty: Ghosts is an extraordinary step forward for one of the largest entertainment franchises of all-time. This new chapter in Call of Duty features a new dynamic where players are on the side of a crippled nation fighting not for freedom or liberty, but simply to survive.

Go into the deep with challenging underwater missions
Battle on land and in the skies with your team
Your companion, Riley, will help sniff out enemies
The Ghosts operate outside of normal boundaries

Fueling this all new Call of Duty experience, the franchise's new next-gen engine delivers stunning levels of immersion and performance, all while maintaining the speed and fluidity of 60 frames-per-second across all platforms.

Single Player Campaign

Ten years after a devastating mass event, America’s borders and the balance of global power have changed forever. As what's left of the nation's Special Operations forces, a mysterious group known only as "Ghosts" leads the fight back against a newly emerged, technologically-superior global power.

A New Call of Duty Universe: For the first time in franchise history, players will take on the underdog role with Call of Duty: Ghosts; outnumbered and outgunned, players must fight to reclaim a fallen nation in an intensely personal narrative. Gamers will get to know an entirely new cast of characters and visit locales in a changed world unlike anything seen in Call of Duty before.

  • In Call of Duty: Ghosts you don't just create a class, you create a soldier, a first for the franchise. In the new Create-A-Soldier system, players can change the physical appearance of their soldier by choosing the head, body type, head-gear and equipment, and for the first time in a Call of Duty game, the player can also choose their gender. With 20,000 possible combinations, this is the most flexible and comprehensive character customization in Call of Duty history.
  • New dynamic maps are the evolution of multiplayer. They include interactive elements and player triggered events that make the environment evolve as each match goes on. The entire landscape can shift and force players to change tactics and strategies.
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts introduces new tactical player movements. The new contextual lean system now allows players to lean around obstacles without adding button combinations or fully leaving cover. The new mantling system allows fluid movement over objects, while maintaining momentum. The knee slide allows for a natural transition from sprinting crouching to prone.
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts delivers over 20 NEW Kill Streaks in Call of Duty: Ghosts - such as Juggernaut Maniac, the Helo Scout, the Vulture and the ODIN Strike. Players can even bring in guard dog Riley, from the single-player campaign, to protect and also to attack enemies. There are also over 30 NEW weapons, including an entirely new weapon class: Marksman Rifles.

Build your team and take up to 6 of them into battle in the all new Squads mode. This mode takes the best parts of the multiplayer experience and allows you to play either solo or cooperatively with the custom soldiers created and leveled up in multiplayer.

The load-out choices you make for your Squad members will directly change the AI behavior of your squad-mates. Give your soldier a sniper rifle and he'll behave like a sniper, and an SMG guy will be more run and gun.

4.0 out of 5 stars Call of Duty Ghosts Review! 22 Jun 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Edition:Standard Edition
Graphically it's pretty impressive and stands up quite well compared to the xbox one version which i use to own although it's nothing to set the world alight (i sold my xbox one version and got the 360 version as a friend was getting it too). It has a pretty decent and involving campaign, perhaps the best Activision have created in years and the multiplayer side is as you would expect if you've played any of the past 5 outings.

Aside from different weapons and load-outs available the game closely resembles the gameplay mechanic of Black Ops although i do prefer the map design in this game and just from a personal perspective i would say the game seems to be more stable online with fewer disconnects and lag issues. As others have said, Squads and Extinction mode seem like an afterthought and don't contribute anything to the game, essentially you have the single player campaign which for me lasted around 7 hours but naturally it's the multiplayer where most of your time will be spent. I must be honest and say i have had issues with hit detection in the odd game every now and then and indeed spawn dying which does need addressing but aside from that it's broadly a success with very few issues!

Verdict: it's a good solid shooter game and online is as fun as ever but this time it has a decent campaign which is actually worth playing. If you're new to Call of Duty then this is a worthy game to get and the same can be said if you currently have one of the previous black ops games. If you're someone like me that is lucky enough to own both an xbox 360 and Xbox One console then it's my recommendation to get the 360 version of Ghosts, as on a pro rata basis i would say it's slightly better value for money. The 360 version runs very smooth with lots of players online!

The Best Call of Duty for a good few years!!

the squads vs squads its the best mode on cod ghost , its fun and i think is the first game ever have the squads mode, with squads there's not camping ,or hiding , its a lots of fun , because if you don't fight along with your squads they will died and you loose ....the only problem on ghost ,they should update the guns regularly , they only cares about the camos and retines of the sights ,and the important on every game its the guns , i love the looks of the vector , but its very bad with re-coils ,and ranges , the guns models are very old , compared with the guns on this days , the future models weapons are on ..so please design a few for this game , the more guns ,more people will play , and more money will go thru your company ..(activision ) ...like the ripper i love it , but nobody's uses with the sight on , only with the submachine gun mode because the sight on this gun sucks , its shine on the bright, don't let you see clearly when shooting at the enemy , i will like the ripper separate and without sight , so i could put one on my own..thanks ..i'm a customer number 1 fan for ghost gameplay ..., but not for the weapons

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome after two dead beat games 2 Sep 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Edition:Standard Edition
This , compared to Modern warfare 3 and yuk black ops 2 is very good in my view !!! I can only talk about single player , so I may not have the full picture on the first two mentioned titles . This game is set in the future of a changed world with a shift in power which if you follow even msnbc and BBC you can see is happening . You fight as a small team of like revolutionary operators to bring down the occupation of the Russians in USA , which is fantastic to me .Drone dog attacks are also included , so new and better stuff . The weapons are fantastic with the use of say scars and sniper rifles , and fantastic performing sigs and M9S . I have faith in the COD franchise again as I feel they were getting lazy and liberal in their games , so I will buy COD advanced warfighter later this year.Oh one thing I don`t get how they can say we`r the underdogs with the advanced systems we have to bring down the Eastern invaders -remote snipers , drone dogs , other drones and fantastic assault rifles , better than previously .I get that it`s in the future , but all the same .

3.0 out of 5 stars Initially Exciting, Quickly Frustrating 11 Nov 2013

Having not bought Black Ops 2 on the basis that I didnt like Black Ops, I've been waiting two years for a new Call Of Duty game. Actually, make that four years since I was truly satisfied with a CoD title (MW2). I understand that developers have a tough job raising the bar with each subsequent release because if they keep it too similar, gamers will criticize them for not moving the franchise forward yet if they make radical changes, gamers will moan they liked things better before. You need to strike the right balance of not trying to fix something that works fine already and introducing new innovations. That said, CoD: Ghosts for me has not achieved these objectives.

I'll try to review Ghosts objectively even though I can't make comparisons to Black Ops 2 like other reviewers have.

When I first played on the launch day, the servers were down so I played the campaign a bit. My first thoughts were positive ones. The story is cool and the action visually cinematic. The gameplay is varied between running and gunning, stealth missions, piloting an Apache and even remotely controlling Riley the dog which is lots of fun. That said, after a couple of hours in, I have no real urge to play again. Something is missing and I think it's a problem I have identified with CoD before, it's just too structured. There is no scope for completing missions different ways or using any initiative whatsoever. You are told which way to walk, when to press x and when to breach a door. If you don't follow the on screen instructions you die. This style of gameplay, no matter how cool it looks, bores me. It's too easy.

I haven't managed to catch any mates online yet so I had a go at the squad feature solo.
