5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant 4 Jan. 2006
By Dozza
It's difficult to contribute any more to the positive reviews but the fact remains that COD wipes the floor with all of the other WWII shooters. Furthermore, in my opinion COD1 is better than COD2 as the gameplay has been changed in COD2 such that there is no more healthmeter and no healthpacks so you just have to take cover in order to miraculously heal from injury. This has robbed COD2 of a lot of tension and is why I think COD1 is better.
The Deluxe edition, which includes the expansion pack (more of the same but still excellent) is a bargain when you consider that the price of the expansion pack on its own is often higher!

5.0 out of 5 stars Contents of package 27 Oct. 2004
Since I found this information hard to come by, the Deluxe Edition of Call of Duty contains in the package both:
- "Call of Duty" Game of the Year edition (with Multiplayer)
- "Call of Duty: United Offensive" add-on
See the individual entries for those games for reviews.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where Do I Start? 23 Jan. 2005
By Mark
Where do I start? Call of Duty is the best First Person Shooter out! It beats others e.g. Medal Of Honor.
Firstly: Call Of Duty has a great interface with absolutly amazing graphics and dont think you need a super top PC to run it mines 2 years old (AMD 2600+xp, Radeon 9500pro/9700, 512MB Ram)-like a said a top PC Is not required. If you are interested in reliving history, fighting in a team, fighting on your own, fighting in the trenches, fighting in tanks, with the ultimate in quality of sound and graphics then look no further Call Of duty is for you!
Call Of Duty United Offence is a great expansion pack fight with new weapons, play new single player missions, fight in a plane, secrete ambushes on Germans, this is the number 1 expansion pack to the number 1 game of the year!
Call Of Duty Multiplayer: (I reccommend a BroadBand user) play some of your favorite maps online and against others from all around the world! The ultimate WWII experience!
If I could i would give this game 100/100 beacause it is so good and remeber it won game of the year and PC Gamer gave it a modest 91% -the reviewer must of been having a bad day!
Haynzee
A Call Of Duty (COD) Fan!

5.0 out of 5 stars You Must Get This Game 5 Jan. 2005
By Shifty One VINE VOICE
F.P.S.,or First Person Shooters have got to be my favourite type of game, this game even more so.Since buying it when it first came out,and getting the addon I have not stopped playing this game in the multiplayer.
Because I`ve been online so much,I`ve even been asked to join a clan aswell, and met some really nice people, and good players.
It not only has a great single player but a damn fine multiplayer even more.
Call of Duty, has some really nice graphics, aswell as some nice choice of weaponary, anything from rifles to automatic machine guns, pistols, and grenades.
The nice thing being you can look down the rifles or any gun for that matter to get a better shot if you want.
There are different stance`s you can adopt aswell, from standing to kneeling to going prone.
Ther are so many nice things about this game it`s hard to name them all,let alone try and find fault.
Moving onto Call Of Duty (United offensive).
This has all the trappings of the first game but with some nice extra `s.
Now you can make your soldier sprint as you have a key for it,really handy if you want to get out of trouble quick.
There are also more weapons to be had.
You will also be able to drive tanks, jeeps, even mount 88 guns to blow away the tanks.
Also all the vehicles have fitted machine guns on.
The fun does not stop there you can now go up in rank online,so if you get to a platoon sargeant you can call in artillary to bombard your target.
I could go,and on.This is one heck of a cracking game, buy it, you will not be disspointed,...........enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Call of Duty Deluxe Edition PC CD-ROM 8 April 2009
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Call of Duty: Deluxe Edition (PC CD)
I bought this game from a high-street charity shop and it was packaged with a book, serial number and 2 CDs. Installation was a breeze with 2 shortcuts on your desktop (Single player and MultiPlayer). The game graphics for my ThinkPad z61M are excellent as is the sound. The Game loads into a practice run and then you are off to a mission. The keyboard controls are easy to use and understand. First Person Shooter and support from your colleagues in the field are well built. The game gets harder across stages but it's extremely addictive. It loads fast and saves at the right points during game play. The sound could have been better but its' good for the time this game was developed back in 2003-2004.
Get a copy and unleash the Dogs of War..

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant game! 16 July 2012
Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is simply brilliant, no matter what other games I play I just keep coming back to it. I lost my version of this game so I just bought it off Amazon in case I needed to ever reinstall it (which I have had to do). The single player is still in my opinion the best Call of Duty single player ever made and despite the multi player being quite simple, it's still extremely addictive. I was a bit disappointed that the version of this game is v1.5 because I play v1.1 but it's still worth buying.

The expansion pack United Offensive has a very good single player too but I didn't get hooked into the multi player (probably because I was still happy with the original games multi player). Buy this game !!!
