1.0 out of 5 stars Awful 10 Nov 2010

Its pathetic, the joysticks seem impossible to play with, and sprinting on black ops is out of the question! What a waste of money!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this 9 Nov 2010
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
I just got this pad today, tested it out with MW 2 as my black ops game has not arrived yet. I'll cut to the chase, the sticks have HORRID ramp acceleration, you move the stick to line up your shot and the acceleration kicks in, your guy almost turns round 180 degrees. When scoped in with a sniper rifle it is impossible to hit your target, you will never get a headshot unless you press the high precision button which slows the speed of the sticks.

I don't get why they would ruin the stick sensitivity just to make their "high precision" button useable. That is backwards and idiotic. This probably could be fixed with a simple patch download via PC I have already sent a damming report to mad catz support team, fingers crossed, but i doubt they will even bother fixing this.

I so MAD, is this why they are called MAD CATZ? I've never bought a 3rd party pad before and if they don't fix this, i will never stray from sony again. I am utterly gob smacked how this pad could PASS testing phase, don't they have some COD players to try it out using COD?? It's the official pad FFS.... and game journo's who have reviewed this pad mention nothing of this problem, which says to me they actually did not use it at all, You can't not notice this, it's like the exact opposite of the deadzone issues with KZ 2, but it's not the game, it IS THE PAD.

Other than that, the pad is actually quite good, the L2 R2 triggers are pretty sweet the other buttons work just fine, the design of the pad is pretty good, it feels solid in your hands, could do with more weight but it does look cool.

Those positives are meaningless with the F-ING sticks are they way they are.

MAD CATZ FIRE YOUR TESTING TEAM, IF YOU EVEN HAVE ONE.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Good. 10 Nov 2010
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
If you read the review by Mr J Walker then he sums up the experience nicely.

This controller is very poor. Aside from the issue with precision, I've also encountered problems where the controller just plain stops doing anything. I'm guessing that this is reception issue between the controller and the USB plugin device. However, in the same situation the standard PS3 controller has no problems.

A final point, and this could just be a configuration combination I've not come across or an even more defective controller, I couldn't get R3 to initiate any action. So using the default COD options, the melee had to be initiated via the Combat button.

Actually, I quite liked the Combat button configuration possibilities. But that's about it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Stay away buy Sony 11 Nov 2010

Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
Got mine yesterday but one day later than the COD came, was rearing to get it going and then very dissappointed.

Sticks are too sensitive and most of the time inaccurate, there is a booster which comes on during crucial shots and your killed, not too happy with it at all and may send it back and spend a few quid on top for an original, tried to disconnect during play to use the original but prompts you to reconnect and don't allow the original to be used during gameplay.

Stay away and buy an original and save time and money, would restrict you on other games too so best buy the trusted name.

2.0 out of 5 stars Eye Candy maybe, but frustrating 20 July 2011
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Looks Good, the back buttons are a good idea but are hard to locate quickly in the heat of a game.
R2 and L2 feel like real triggers, if a little too heavily sprung.
However, the switches on the four buttons on the right of the pad (X, Triangle etc.) are unresponsive and often have to be pressed twice (push down hard!) to get a reaction.
Wireless signal response is VERY POOR, the delay in pulling the trigger and the gun firing is unacceptable.
The START and SELECT buttons are totally in the wrong formation !! (one above the other, what's all that about ?)
Overall, this pad is just not good enough for serious gaming, pity because it looks so good.
Would I buy it ?..........NO

1.0 out of 5 stars Rubbish Controller!! 1 Dec 2010
By Amdadur
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
DO NOOOTTT BUYYY!!!!! There is too much lag between buttons and in-game response. The precision aim buttons are a load of rubbish, they put it in because the analoge sticks are not sensitive enough. This is the worst thing I have ever brought!!

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
The controller itself is very comfortable compared to a normal Sony version but the sensitivity is awfull and at times it cuts off for no reason. When you push the right stick slightly you can spin 180 degrees so trying to get the precision aim is a complete farce as you end up getting shot - please be aware that this has nothing to do with the sensitivity as I tried it on Gran Turismo 5 and had the same results when trying to overtake cars and could not pass licenses. I soon reverted back to my original Sony issue with no problems.

If I could take my Sony controller and place it in this case it would be a great buy as the grip and feel is fantastic but with the sensitvity issues stay away.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty pointless really
Isn't much different from the PS3 controller, if anything, it is harder to use and it moves faster!

I ended up buying the Eagle Eye which is great with a gaming mouse.
