5.0 out of 5 stars Review of Call of Cthulhu 25 July 2008
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I found the Call of Cthulhu rulebook to be a fascinating read, with reams of info on game play, creatures, spells and the cthulhu mythos. It also contains a whole host of historical data, with the Psychology section standing out in my mind.

This book should be a must for any horror gamer, and any Lovecraft fan should consider it too. My only criticism is the repetition and poor standard of some of the artwork, but the general body of art is still provocative and inspiring.

A solid, professional piece of work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovecraft's monster compendium 21 Feb 2011
By Ibraar TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this book as I wished to read more about Monsters and Creatures in the Cthulhu Mythos and I haven't been disappointed!
Contains a wealth of information, "facts" etc about the Mythos and the creatures, Gods and Monsters with art work maps and other pictures, and as an added bonus contains the novella "call of Cthuhu'!

And did i mention the RPG of the same name is also a part of this book??

All in all essential for Lovecraft fans, RPG lovers, and also players of the new Board game "Mansions of Madness" and other Lovecraft related stuff

5.0 out of 5 stars Call of Cthulhu 19 Oct 2010
By Andy C
Format:Paperback
If you are a player or games-master of role-playing games, and enjoy the Horror genre and haven't played Call of Cthulhu, where have been?

Based on the works of Author H.P. Lovecraft, the game sees the players as investigators of the supernatural and paranormal.

The game has rules for setting the game in various time periods including 1890's, 1920's and 1990's and this one book is all you need - apart from pencils, paper, dice etc..

I've been playing this game on and off since the second edition and it's still as good as ever.
