First saw Alex supporting the brilliant Tom McRae at the Borderline August 2008 - just him and a guitar and a keyboard. There was a certain honesty about the guy and some great songs so I purchased his debut album and it became the soundtrack to my autumn/winter 2008/2009 - a great CD. Have seen him 4 times since and he really is a great songwriter with a gift for a chorus and a melody. And he is human - you can talk to him face to face or via facebook or Twitter. Got a promo copy of this album at one of the Cafe Neros shows earlier in the summer - a few songs I knew well live and as demos and you wonder what an album 'take' will be like - but they are different and richer. This is a stronger and dare I say 'better' album. Buy it and go and see him (and his great band featuring a very athletic drummer!- Hi Simon') - seriously this guy makes 'acoustic' music fashionable - a rare talent and a nice guy to boot.So finally, buy tickets for his Christmas show at the intimate Bush Hall in Hammersmith.

Best Cd of the year 30 Jun 2010
Format:Audio CD
I received one of the 500 advance copies of the CD sold through his web site. The CD is the best I have bought this year. You could say there are Coldplay and Travis influences but this undermines what is a great piece of work.

Title track is great as is Dont hold me back, for me the standout track. The third one you cant get out of your mind is what john Lennon said, although a bit gimmicky in its title, the song stays with you.

I also like on the right side form the film Solstice, moody and thoughtful....I just cant stop playing this

I have no idea why this guy does not have a much much larger audience.

Highly recommended.

Lyrically Brilliant 23 Nov 2010
By bas
Format:Audio CD
If you are like me and love great lyrics than this is the album for you. I heard the song Shame on a TV programme, loved it, looked it up and bought the album.. I was not disappointed. He really is a talent and a nice guy too. I think that most of us can relate to his lyrics and the music that accompanies is brilliant. I managed to get in touch with him to find out if he is doing any gigs in Manchester and he actually replied so hopefully I'll get to see him in early 2011. I would recommend you buy this album and listen to it, then again and then again....... it is simply brilliant.
