Product Description

"When the time comes to choose your target, be sure to pick the right one. Because you will only get one shot . . ."

The Shadow War is long over, and the Interstellar Alliance--presided over by former Babylon 5 commander John Sheridan--is about to celebrate the fifth anniversary of peace among its united member worlds.

But a planet, annihilated by an unspeakable weapon appears in chilling dreams. And on that world there lies a terrifying promise of Armageddon. For the Drakh, once servants of the bloodthirsty Shadows, are following in the footsteps of their vanquished masters--preparing to launch a devastating interstellar war. Their first target is Earth.

This threat will draw Sheridan back to Babylon 5--and into an uneasy partnership with a beautiful and deadly survivor of Shadow genocide. In the desperate race to warn Earth, he must face an apocalyptic showdown with the ultimate war machine--one capable of killing an entire world . . .

4.0 out of 5 stars Sheridan starts the 5 year tv series Crusade by missing, 7 May 2000
Ex-Babylon 5 Captain Sheridan is now President of the Interstellar Alliance. He starts having dreams. His friends think he is going mad. Is he sane or mad?

The dreams warn him that he has an enemy. Is the enemy the Drakh or the Techno-mages?

Sheridan decides it is time to shot something. This leaves him with a few problems, like picking a target, weapon, allies and side.

This is the pilot of a 5 year TV series. So Sheridan has to miss his target.

Who does he miss? What does he miss? Where does he miss? When does he miss? Why does he miss? Read the book to find out.

Sheridan and co do hit a few things, so there is plenty of adventure in the story.

I enjoyed the story and hope you do too.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good book with a good plot., 9 Sep 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: A Call to Arms (Babylon 5 (Paperback Ballantine)) (Mass Market Paperback)
I think this was a good movie turned into a good tv-movie. The only problem I think is that it need a little more information about the Drakh. Give a little more info I what they have been doing for the past 5 years. Still a good book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, 15 Oct 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: A Call to Arms (Babylon 5 (Paperback Ballantine)) (Mass Market Paperback)
I have to say that this book is great, unlike what I did with Thridspace I read this book after I saw the movie. It is a quick read and if you are a hard core fan of Babylon 5 you will eat this one up like cadny. I knew that there were some things about the Drazi and because of that I zero into that thing. But what they didn't tell me was the little thing about Dureena while she was on the station. Do you a favor or a treat go and buy this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars The weakest of the B5 movie novelizations, 22 Oct 1999
By D. Denesowicz "skeptical inquirer" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: A Call to Arms (Babylon 5 (Paperback Ballantine)) (Mass Market Paperback)
The only reason I decide to read a movie novelization is to see what additional material(internal dialogue, additional scenes) the author injects into the project. Peter David did a great job with "In the Beginning" of expanding on the film and really giving us material that could've been there if not for time constraints.

Sheckley brings nothing interesting into "A Call to Arms" that enhances the story and much of the inner dialogue doesn't even seem like the characters.

You might as well just watch the movie again if the basic story appeals to you.
